I am thinking about joining the new gym, curves. Any feedback? I have heard good things about it, but 3 times a week for a half hour seems like too little time to be effective. Does anybody know anything about it?

I joined curves 2 weeks ago and love it. I got more then the 3 times a week. I go Mon thru Frid and absolutely love it. I've lost 4 pds in the last 2 weeks bc of it. let me know if you have any questions.

Hi! Do you have to pay more to go more? How much does it cost? I hear good things about it. Thanks!

NO you do not have to pay more to go more. Its one fee. I live in Manhattan and its a lot more here then long island.

Re: Curves...
My friend just joined and she loves it. I don't know anything about pricing, but I thought I'd just pass along some positive feedback

Re: Curves...
I love Curves. I have been going since November. I lost about 8 pounds. I don't usually make it there 3 times a week and still don't eat as well as I should but you can definitely see the difference.

Re: Curves...
ok- I started. People tell me they love it and it is so much fun, but I really don't think working out in general is fun. As far as workouts go though- it is not bad. You are only there for a half hour, and you switch excercises and machines every 30 seconds. I can stand anything for 30 seconds! Just when you start to hate it, it is time to stop.

Re: Curves...
How do you find their hours? I just joined NYSC even though I really wanted to try curves, just b.c when I called they told me they closed at 7? and were only open 9-12 pm on Sat? Do they realize that people who work in NYC don't get home until after 6 or 7...(for me 7:45)

I am going to the curves in Deer Park- yes, the hours do stink. I thibk they are open form 9-12, then 3-8 durong the week, or something like that. I have a weird schedule myself which sometimes has me home in the day and at school at night, so it works for me.

Re: Curves...
Their hours do stink-- They are made for people who don't work. The one in Famingdale is open until 8 on M-TH and 7 on Friday. I usually get off of the train at 6:15- then go straight there so I am done by 7.

Re: Curves...
Yeah, those hours are terrible! Maybe they want to keep the gym small? I can imagine how much business they would have if they kept the gym open later, it would be a perfect workout for working women with out much time!

Re: Curves...
I am joining tomorrow with my best friend. I work in NYC also- get home about 7pm. I am going to go Friday (I work from home), Saturday morning and try my best to get there one other day per week. I really hope that I can lose a few pounds.

Re: Curves...
Yesterday was the end of my first month of joining curves. They measure me and I lost a total of 4 inches from my entire body and I'm down 5 pds!
