Custom Cake?

Is anyone not taking the cake from their RH if the RH is giving one in their package? Anyone ordering a cake through a baker in general?

My FH and I really have our heart set on a specific cake so we will most likely forgo the 'free' cake. (unless our idea is very costly)

When should we start looking at bakers? Any suggestions?

well, we don't want one of the cakes that our RH offers, or even one of their upgrade cakes...but they have a private baker that does their cakes (not really private, you could call them tomorrow for ur cake!! lol) but i guess its like 'Their' bakery people so they won't charge us as much for a cake at the watermill as if we were getting it from somewhere else, cuz of the fact that a cake is included i guess?? they are Macayla Michaels

we want a specific cake, or at least something close to it, and they can do it for us. ill include a pic of what we want essentially


and if u want their contact info, (website, phone #) FM me...also, look into seeing if ur RH has a 'private baker' type situation like how we're doing, it may be cheaper if its a bakery recommended by ur RH

umm not sure when you should start looking but maybe you can bring that design to ur rh and the baker can try and dupliucate it

ITA, definitely bring a pic to ur RH first and they will tell u what they can do, even if its for an upgraded price!! there are always outside bakers that can do it, but u should try for the more convenient option first!!

That's a pretty cake!! We were told who the 'house' baker was for our RH. Maybe I'll try them. We want a tri-color cookie cake and I posted on the vendor boards a while ago but no vendor got back to me in regards to being able to make one. I have a feeling It may take a while to find someone who's 'up to the challenge'.

Ok... I won't feel weird calling bakers now knowing your date is the same month as mine!!! I really felt like this was too early.

u can browse the website, maybe they have something on there like it?? i dont remember, and it doesn't hurt to ask!!

Dortoni's Bakery actually makes Tri Color cookie cakes! They are delicious! Check them out they are in Levittown

Sweet Karma bakery is my favorite bakery! It's the best!

At first, I was thinking of going to find an outside bakery for a specific cake, and not use the cake that’s part of the package. But, then I thought since we are having the full VH and it's pretty huge, they actually make the CH room and make it into a Dessert Café Room - and will have so much there, so I figured we would save some money and choose one of their cakes. Although, I tend to think if we were not to have the VH - I would like to find a bakery and upgrade the cake.
