does seem a tad pricey but I think they bag them for you so you are probably also paying for the 'service'--not that we aren't capable of putting M&M's in a bag ourselves! LOL

Those calculations might be off- I bet you don't really need that many. Go buy a bag of them at the supermarket and divide it into the amount you need for favors- figure it out that way.

50 pounds is a lot of mnm's!

This isn't the complete favor price...this is the price for a bulk of unwrapped M&M's. 40 bucks for 5 pounds.

I'm going to do just that...test a few!

50 lbs / 200 ppl = 1/4 lb per person! THAT seems like a bit much, doesnt it? I dont know how big the box/bag you are using, but maybe you can get away with half that and go with 1/8 lb per person. GOOD LUCK

OK, FIY, a regular vending machine size pack of M&M's is 1.74OZ, and sizewise it would fit into a small favor container (just perfect size)...

I would use 1/8 of a pound per person, it seems to be a more reasonable amount... So everyone, cut your costs in half...
