Custom Wedding Dress vendors?

Hello!

I have a traditional Korean wedding dress from my mother that I would like to convert into my wedding dress. Does anyone know of a seamstress in Queens/Long Island who can do a simple A-line strapless dress with this material?

I called a custom bridal shop in St. James and so far their quote is $3500 (gasp!!!)... so I'm looking for something much much more reasonable.
