I have 2 baby showers coming up and I wanted to do something a little bit different than just buying off the registry. Any cute ideas that you have seen. TIA!!!

I've seen people make a 'tiered cake' out of diapers..At the end it looks really pretty and can be very useful for the mommy because they always need diapers! If you buy it somewhere it can get very $$$ but I am sure it would be a lot cheaper to make it yourself.. and probably not all that hard either. HTH!
something from tiffanys? its a little late but when my best friend got pregnant i started buyin holiday onesies for all major holiday until the shower and i got a book and bib to go along with it....i plan on wrapping them all in paper that matches that holiday and putting them all in a laundry basket

I would say to be careful about not buying off the registry just in case they have it already. I almost did this once and thank god that while I was at the store I asked DH to call his friend and find out if by any chance they had this item although it wasnt on the registry. Turns out they already had it and thats why it wasn't on the registry.
Hmmmm my cousin is gonna get something for the baby for a shower she is attending soon but for the mother she is getting her a GC to a spa that does pregnancy massages.
Or maybe something from Tiffany's. Once at a shower somebody bought these real cute baby bowls and spoon and little cup. Or maybe a bracelet, earrings or something like that.
Or buy her a package with a photographer to have a session to take pics with the baby.

I love the photography package idea! If you know what she is having, you can buy it a cute outfit for the pics too!!

i know someone who got a gift for the mommy to be rather than the baby...she got her a massage and i will say the mommy to be really liked it

Well, I guess it depends on how close you are with the mother. It is a tradition with me that for every child's 1st birthday, I get them a personalized book which tells a story about the day they were born with their name included throughout the story. Only thing is...you need to know a lot of info...height, weight, doctor's name, etc. It does require research, but everyone has always cried when they opened it. Best part is...it's only 14 dollars!
Tiffanys has these cute polka dot bunny banks. I think they run about 90 dollars.
I made this diaper cake for my FSIL a few months ago. It's definitely something that is practical. Only advice, though, is not to get the newborn size b/c they can grow out of those in a week and you want the mother to enjoy the diaper cake for a little while before having to tear it apart. This cost about 30 dollars to make (with all of the accessories added).
