Cute but inexpensive Engagement gift???

My fsil got engaged 2 weeks ago. They have announced they wont be having an eparty. I didnt have one either and no one got me anything ( except my sis who sent me a check ) But I still want to get her something inexpensive but nice. I was going to get her a subscription to a wedding magazine but she already subscribed to 4!! lol
Any other ideas??

A nice bottle of wine or champagne with a pair of glasses.

If they are registered you could pick off of that. An engagement journal. I recently bought one at Michael's 'On Hot Couple'. It has prompts where they can record memories about their first date, first trip together etc.

Inexpensive and think about how fun it will be when they flip through it years from now.

i would wait until they're registered and then buy a little something off of that.

Some of my favorite gifts were a waterford ring holder, and a friend of mine gave me a bottle of champagne with 2 lenox champagne glasses in an ice bucket

I got a crystal ring holder too! Or what about a countdown lock? My friend loved that when I gave it to her.

i got a really cute picnic basket with plastic plates/cups/utensils etc. I don't think it would be more than $25 or so... And it was one of my favorite gifts!

Aside from the cash (which was my fave), I do love the champagne glasses I got. I plan on using them at the wedding.

ONe of those good wedding planners with a book like Martha Stewart weddings is something she won't register for but will surely use and enjoy.

I like the wedding planner idea.. I GOT ONE, and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! It came with a little bag, let me try to find one... brb

I just found this article..
Getting engaged is an exciting event and it can be a nice thought to buy the engaged couple an engagement gift to mark the occasion. Buying the couple a wedding planner book with advice on organizing the wedding would be a very useful engagement gift. If possible buy one which is ring-bound to allow pages to added, taken out or moved around. Buy one with pockets for putting in notes and other useful items. Organizing a wedding can be very stressful and it is best to get started as early as possible and having a book for keeping notes can help immeasurably. Wedding planner books typically include checklists and organizers to help with things like sending out wedding invitations, what needs to be done before the big day and how to deal with wedding gifts . They may also include information on: engagement traditions; who should pay for what; different kinds of weddings; how to deal with gifts; and planning the honeymoon. Using a wedding planner book can help remove much of the stress. For those who are technically-minded, wedding planner software is available which fills the same function as a book. Facilities include a gift registry , invitation and RSVP tracking, and seating arrangements. Some people interact better with computers than with paper, others find it the other way round.

Another engagement gift idea would be a large photograph album so the couple can start keeping a record of their life together. Wedding photograph albums are available with beautifully designed covers. Or you could give them a photograph of the two of them together in a photo frame designed for two photographs and then they can put one of their wedding invitations in the other frame. It is also possible to buy glass frames with a photo frame on one side and a glass pane next to it which you can have engraved with the text of the wedding invitation. Another engagement gift idea would be to buy them a pair of champagne flutes with their names engraved on them and a bottle of champagne to toast their future together. Wedding books are available with advice on choosing the dress, bridesmaids' dresses, flowers and venue for the wedding and the reception.

we got a set of crystal tiffany wine glasses we LOVE (we don't own anything nice, so it has been great to 'toast' our life every friday night with these!)

Or else, a nice bottle of wine or champagne is always fun!
