Cute favor!! Anyone ever make these??

My friend told me about these cake pops and being the baker I am, decided I'm going to make them a favor for our engagement party favor...I thought they were the cutest things!

My BM's and I just made them for my e party favors. Keep in mind, you can only make them a few days before. The cake balls were not hard to make but the decorating is more challenging than it works, especially since michaels was out of the good white chocolate and you need to dip both the brides and grooms in that. I ended up making one per person not the sets because they were a little more work than we thought.

A lot of the feedback was good and they taste great

Yay!! And I'm not sure what I'm getting myself into with these, so thanks for the info! I'm hoping to make two for everyone but with 65 people being invited, that's a whole lot of pops! I may wind up doing the same thing you did :)

btw, did you buy the Bakerella Cake Pops book or just found it online?

I made these for our engagement party! Well, not the bride and groom ones ours were pink with blue sprinkles. Making them is totally doable but make sure you have help. It took me, FH and two of my bridesmaids to make them and when there were done I seriously wanted to lay on the floor and cry haha. While the steps are really simple, there are A LOT of steps. Just a few tips:
- Make sure you freeze the cake/frosting mixture enough between everything. so you should mix, freeze, make the balls, freeze, stick the sticks in, freeze. make sure they are super cold before you dip them in the chocolate.
- Make sure you have enough Styrofoam bricks to stick the sticks in...get more then you think you need to.. if you have too many of them on one brick you risk smudging.
-get the BARS of ghirardelli white chocolate. I had gotten the chips and both bags of chocolate melted into a big blob for some reason. The bars melt really nicely and melts into a looser chocolate... dont ask me why lol.

Its a lot of work but everyone LOVED them.

Uh yeah. My FSIl had those as truffles at her shower.. they were absolutely phenomenal. We had them made and they were so good.

My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

My friend had the book but I didnt use it...just used what I found online. Since these ones sit with the sticks up, you actually dont need the styrofoam, just cookie sheets covered in wax paper.

I was really sad about only doing one per person, but once I bagged them with a cute tag, it still ended up looking cute. I had about 100 at the party, 80 adults. I ended up giving the kids something else.

Never made cake pops, but made cake truffles for our OOT bags. The only tough part is making the candy coating on the outside look smooth.

Those pops are beautiful! I am sure everyone will love them.
