Re: cutting back on christmas this year??

I'm not baking..theres WAYYY TOO many people in my family for that! But I am cutting back on Christmas and when I mentioned it to one of my aunts..she said 'why are you even buying presents!! you have a wedding to pay for!' I think people will understand.

If you think people won't like baking..what about an inexpensive bottle of wine or ornament..just a little something..

I'm cutting back on how much I spend this year on people. I tend to over do it.

I think its fine- you can make me and dom cookies if you want:- I like chocolate chip!)

I am cutting back this year (even though its killing me to) but most people understand that we have a wedding to pay for

i am not sure what i am doing this christmas, but my fh and i did decide that we eally have to do a bit less shopping this year as opposed to past years...with each other and for family...it just makes sense and i think everyone understands...

we agreed, we're definitely cutting back. i feel really weird about it, but i'm sure my family would be upset if i DIDN'T do it.

i love the idea of baking cookies. i wish i could bake!!

I'm cutting back on my spending but I have a large extended family to buy for. But I was at Kohl's and they are having some big sales and with coupons on top of that I've been saving a lot.

I am cutting back as well and my fam understands since my fh and I are paying for most of the wedding. It's completely understandable.

we are definitely cutting back but i am NOT going the DIY route bc every time i try that i end up spending MORE and then the night before I end up really upset and hating the gift and even being embarassed by it. . . i refuse to do that again

I think thats a great idea!
I did that for FH's mom last year.. They loved it!
I already told everyone, no one is getting anything LOL
We just dont have the money... And we already have our daughter to shop for...And even that is going to be tight.... She's still a baby though, so she wont know the difference.. The only thing she is interested in is the paper... LOL

by the way
i think the cookies are a great idea and i would love to receive them as a gift! just watch your spending bc its easy to end up spending MORE when you are buying ingredients etc. at all different times. . .

i just had a bad experience ( two actually ) attempting to make my own gifts so i am scarred for life!

I have a very large family and since FH and I have the wedding and my cousin and her husband are pregnant, we decided to do Secret Santa. It is helping us save a lot of money since we only have to purchase for one person this year instead of about 12. We are doing group stockings though.....one gift for each stocking.

I think everyone's family understands that we all have to cut back this year.
