One day you are home SO is working/out and you decide to go online, someone IM's you and confuses you with someone else and starts talking randy Before you know it you are heated up and sending heated messages right back, things end with a cigarette and you sign off w/o knowing anything else about the person.
Would you consider this cheating?

Ok...lame or not...Its not cheating in my opinion.
Would I beat the crap out of FH, yes, and probably re-consider things because hes an adult and cmon..use the bathroom not the PC...But no, I dont think it constitutes cheating neccesarily.

i dont think of it as ' cheating' cheating, but in a sense i do. If FH sneeks it and gets off on it I feel he may as well cheat. He is still getting off on some chick that ISNT me. Whether she be there or not. Not everyone is going to see my p.o.v. and thats ok. of course it would be worse if an actual girl had truly been with him.... but i think if i'm not there it's not worth it!

i've had a few adult conversations on line but it was more for entertainment purposes than for excitement or pleasure. i might have said some semi-raunchy stuff (in response to the person i was talking to) but i wasn't getting off on the conversation nor was i touching myself. it was really more for fun than anything. people can be really crazy!!
oh, i was not involved with my SO at that point.
i guess since i did it for fun i don't see how bad it could be, but then again i've never been in that position.

This one I'm not sure about. I don't think it's cheating necessarily, because you're not making physical contact of any sort with anybody else, but if FH did it, I would be very disappointed. It would make me feel like I'm not good enough for him.

I don't understand it myself. It really seems desperate to talk dirty with someone you've never seen, met or will ever meet.
Besides I think everyone on the other side of chatrooms are usually pretty scary.
A lot of those people need to shut the computer off and go get the REAL thing . LOL

For the most part I would say that yes, I would consider cybersex cheating. For one, I know that DH would be LIVID if I ever did it. The severity of the offense, though, may depend on the details of the electronic rendezvous.
For instance, if there was alot of chatting beforehand, several IMing sessions, getting to know you/like you chatter etc and then the cybersex -- well, that would be a huge problem. Definitely cheating in my eyes.
If the chatting continued after the sex, cheating too.
All of those things, I feel, can lead to an actual affair and do constitute infidelity because you are forming an inappropriate relationship with another person
The example you posted, though, I MIGHT deem a misdemeanor if it only happened once, and ONCE only.

lol... well if he was to get off while kissing someone that would be a problem!!! i find that if you get off on someone other than me, its cheating.
