D.J. for the ceremony?

Is it cheesy to use a dj for the ceremony music instead of live musicians? Thanks.

D.J. for the ceremony?

Not at all... We were going to use our DJ until we decided to get married at a church. We would prefer a DJ over a band anytime. For one they're very expensive, and two, I don't like the way bands sound, they rarely sound like the song that you want to hear. I prefer the original/CD. I don't see the point of spending that much for a band. You have a lot more options with a DJ, than you do a band. But, that's just us. A lot of brides here are using live music. We couldn't afford it. Well, I think even if we could afford it, we still wouldn't want one. Good luck!

D.J. for the ceremony?

It could probably work beautifully with the right kind of music. If you have wonderful ideas that you think the DJ can provide, then why not go for it? It`s your day. Will your ceremony be at a church? Or will it be where you plan to have your reception? If it`s going to be at a church, you might need to check to make sure it`s okay with the church to have a DJ come in and set up.

D.J. for the ceremony?

We just had this EXACT conversation. I was leaning towards hiring a live musician for the ceremony, but figured for 30 minutes it's probably not worth the expense. I also considered that if we were getting married in a church you wouldn't see the musician and just hear the beautiful music and we figured this would be sorta the same thing.

D.J. for the ceremony?

Our ceremony and reception are in the same place, which makes the d.j thing more convenient and cheaper.

live musician isn't too expensive

For an hour you can get a harpist (or any soloist) for probably $150.
