Dad was in a similar tux. Gm were gray but dad chose black and did wear a vest.

My dad is getting a tux. He is not going to match the bridal party but he will match my mom.
My dad has his own tux but may just borrow a vest in black from the tux place. I'm not worried about him matching the bridal party in attire. As long as he has his boutinere lol
My dad and FH dad are buying really nice suits... Our wedding is a day wedding so a tux for them isn't really important to me. I let them choose what they wanted!
I think your Fh should be in one shade, GM in another and your father either in the GM shade or a different such as just black.

FH and our ringbearer (FH's youngest son) are wearing one tux with silver vests and ties. Groomsmen are in a different tux with burgundy vests and ties. My dad is going to be in the same tux as the GM, but with the silver vest and tie like FH and RB. This way he matches, but will still stand out AND he'll also match my mom.

I let my dad pick out his own tux. I just asked that it be black. Other than that I let him choose what he wanted so he would be comfortable.
I put my dad in black on blk and the groom & groomsmen wore a silver vest with their black suits. DH wanted all the guys including himself to look the same.
