Daddy booked our band!

Daddy booked our band!

Yay! I came home from FH's house last night and Dad was asleep on the couch. He heard me come in, got up, grumbled 'you got a band' and then went to bed

This morning he told me he called a bandleader with whom he has worked MANY MANY times at just about every catering hall from the Hamptons to Westchester and he booked him for us. Now the guy will put together an all-star line up of musicians, a few who may be my dad's cronies. I am so excited. My dad is a great drummer and overall musician and I totally trust his judgement in picking a bandleader. And the leader he chose is really topnotch. This band should be awesome. YAY

I think my dad got a good deal on them, too. He said he is taking care of it, so I don't know. I am so excited. I have met the leader a few times during my youth and my brother played in a few bands with his son (who is an amazing piano player). Being in a musical family is finally paying off

Now I just have to make sure my father and brother don't sit in on a few songs.

I feel relieved knowing it is booked and I didn't even have to stress about searching for it. Dad did it and he enjoyed it.

I trust him entirely. When I was a kid, he played in and booked bands for a living. He has played weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvah's, political functions and some celebrity birthday parties in swanky lofts

I don't think I am getting a band that has played at a swanky party, but I think they will be awesome.
