I sent an email to my former boss to thank him for inviting us to the wedding and to tell him that everything was beautiful. He wrote me back saying that it was a bittersweet day for him because 'his baby is gone.'
Do you think most dad's feel this way?

Nah...I think at this point, I've been out of my parent's house for the better part of 10 years so my dad is over the whole me leaving the nest thing (I think anyway). My dad is thankful for FH...one less financial burden on him! LOL

I am sorry. I didn't mean to upset anyone. It's just the way he said it, it broke my heart and I've been sitting here crying for the last 40 minutes.
That is the part about getting married that makes me upset, leaving my family.

I think the hardest part will be my dad giving me away - of course he is absolutely thrilled with the man I chose to marry but I am the baby and the first one to go

Oh my Dad will be a mess. I'm the oldest and def. the closest to him. He loves my FH, but he will be sad to see his 'little' girl go.

no you didn't upset me. lol. it's more like a love hate relationship. my dad doesn't know how to show his feelings so he just yells at me. my mom says it's cuz i'm his 'favorite'. i know it's gonna be really hard dancing with him.

my dad always makes comments about how the day i got engaged was teh greatest day of his life cause he knew i would be out of the house soon. and even though he makes comments like thsi he cant even watch videos from when i was younger because he is like a waterfall. so i guess it will be bittersweet for him - im worried about dancing with him cause even thinking of it brings me to tears

My daddy is the freaking best....He is excited for the wedding and esp. that he loves my FH more than me I think some times....HAHAHA...He is happy I will be with someone who will care for me just as much as he does.
But really...I am gonna miss my family so much when I move out. It hasn't really hit me that i actually have to move out after i get married... Werid

my dad cried the entire day he was very sentimental all day long, he couldnt stop looking at me and he had tears in his eyes the whole day
while on my honeymoon my mom told me that they were sitting on the beach while we were away and my dad just started crying cause he missed me so much.
i'm choking up thinking about it.
but.. i do see him at least 5 days a week. i think it is the fact that i dont sleep home anymore.

I think that even though I have not lived at home for a couple of years, I think he will be sad because this means I am all grown up. I think that will make him sad.

I think my dad is a lot of talk. He says how the real party will be the day after I'm married and I'm out of the house, but I think he will be sad.
