Ok so everyone knows my dad passed away like 5 years ago - i have his ashes. Is it weird/morbid to have the box at the church - only a few people will know what it is...... I just dont know - i mean if someone asks whats the box - id have to say thats my dad..... kinda unsure about the whole thing................

I think you should do what you want without worrying what other may think or ask. I doubt anyone will ask, at least as far as the guests go...everyone will be focused on the bride and groom.

Re: dads ashes
alot of girls have a pic of their dad sewn inside their dress so that way he is still walking them down the aisle

I agree with Barb, I'm not doing it either, I just don't want to be that depressed on the day of, I already know that some family members will make comments saying they wish he was there, but I won't be able to handle it
I'm going to be doing this too. My mom has my dad's blue beaded baby bracelet that i'm also incorporating into my bo-k.
I can't do photos or a montage though. i'll be too sad making it and seeing it up. It'll also my my mom and aunt sad too.
It's up to you what you'd like to do with the ashes.

Re: dads ashes
My dad passed in November and I have to say I think its a really sweet idea. Not too many people will know what the box is but if it will mean something to you then do it.

I love the idea of the bo-k picture charms. If you want to have the box there, go for it. No one will notice it or question it probs. The only bad thing is that you may get very emotional.

Where can you get those?

I would just do what makes you feel best about the situation. Don't worry about what someone else thinks it's your wedding!

I think you should do whatever you want. The picture in the dress or on the bok is also a great idea, I never thought of that before.

Re: dads ashes
my father gave me & my step sister a broken heart but when you put our 2 pieces together it makes 1 heart - that was his last give to us so i am having mine incorporated in my bouquet & her in her bouquet! thanks ladies youve really helped!

Re: dads ashes
I have another idea for you. When my friends grandfather died his mom went to her jeweler and had a gold basketball charm (friend was really into basketball but you can use anything) and had it hollowed out a little filled with some of his grandfathers ashes and sealed up. She gave it to him and now he wears it all the time on a chain and always has his grandfather close to his heart. Maybe you could do something like that maybe with a heart charm and you would know your dad is with you without possibly making ppl upset or emotional JMO
