Re: Dais or sweetheart table
Sweetheart table although FH originally wanted to a dais. But I convinced him not to. I don't want my friends and his friends sitting away from their spouses, girl/boyfriends. So instead we're going to put our BP at the 2 closest tables to us w/their significant others

Re: Dais or sweetheart table
We are doing the sweetheart table - BUT IF our BP keeps driving us insane they keep telling us WHO they will and WILL NOT walk, sit, dance with - THEY WILL be sitting at a dias! OR as FH puts it they will be sat alone in the corner
until they can play fair

Re: Dais or sweetheart table
We are doing a sweetheart table. I'm personally not a big fan of the dais. I want my bridal party to be able to sit with their significant others.

Re: Dais or sweetheart table
We haven't discussed it, but I know I prefer a sweetheart table. Someone once told us that we have the rest of our lives to eat alone, we should have a dais, but I don't know. One GM is FH's uncle. Does that mean he won't sit with any other family members? We have to think about it.

Re: Dais or sweetheart table
i'm having a cocktail reception, so it's little different, but we are sitting at a big table with our families. the bridal party is sitting with their significant others. we think we will hardly be at our table though, we'll be walking around.

Re: Dais or sweetheart table
I guess I'm the only one, but I'm somewhat put off by the sweetheart table. I want my bridesmaids there with me! I've been to a few weddings in the last year (was in 3) and there was one Sweetheart table, two dais, and one where there were two tables where the Bridal party sat. The last one was the most uncomfortable for me, firstly because the Bride and Groom were at the other Bridal party table (I felt like I was secondary to other BP members), and FH was at another table ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HALL. He didn't have so much fun during dinner. But that won't be a concern for many women here, unless they're getting married at Tarrywile in Danbury.
I really like the Dais - I think it looks Grander. And the dates of the BP will know other people there, so I don't see it as a problem.

Re: Dais or sweetheart table
neither?i don't want to split up my BP from their SO's and i'm not one to be the center of attention, so...i will most likely just have regular tables all around.

Re: Dais or sweetheart table
that's what I want to do. I haven't checked with the hall though.I have a small BP ( all cousins), so I'd like to sit at a table with them & their dates/spouses.
My friends did something like that. They had a regular table, with thier MOH & BM, and their siblings ( who eere also in the BP) and the spouses & dates.
They had 3 other bp members- 2 sat with their dates at our table (friends) and 1 friend of the family sat with her husband and her family.

Re: Dais or sweetheart table
Princess, you're not the only one......My earlier post said I'll be doing dais. The hall I want to only did sweetheart so I didn't book with them. I want my BP with me, that's the purpose of having them there. I'm not worrying about THEIR dates. They won't die not being around them for a few hours PLEASE. Besides everyone in my BP is family so noone will feel left out.
