Damn my mom! LOL

So you know how I said I did not want to have to look at my registry after I said it was completed because i didn't want to see gifts being purchased and then assume my shower invites went out?

Well my mom emails me that I accidentally registered for 2 of the same thing when I clearly needed one and to suggest I add something. Well I go on my registry to fix it, and what do I see... 9 GIFTS HAVE BEEN PURCHASED!!!

I am only going to assume it was my mother getting a head start but damn her - I didn't want to see that! LOL Now I'm paranoid and I have to find a shower dress ASAP!

LOL! i would justify it with this, at least you don't now who the gifts are coming from!

OMG lol i have like 40 gifts bought off my registry and i know my shower is a long ways from now... it really is probably just family members getting a jump start on things (which is what i am figuring).

ok, how are you girls getting gifts bought already?! how long before the shower are the invites supposed to go out?! my wedding is the first week of May and I havent even registered yet! am I behind??!!

Well I had asked my mother when I should have the registeries absolutely 100% completed because after it's done I don't want to go back and look and see that gifts are being bought (I want my shower to be a surprise). She told me September. That doesn't necessarily mean my shower is happening sometime this year. I actually think it might be sometime around March or early April - but who knows!

I just know my mom and she's the type to get a head start on buying stuff so it's out of the way (she probably already went Christmas shopping LOL)

lol thats funny ... my mom is the COMPLETE opposite! if she can do things the day before ... SHE WOULD! ughhh soooo annoying ... i dont like the extra stress! but look at weezygirl .. 40 gifts? that cant be all mom can it? how do family members know about the registry already if shower invites haven't gone out or have they?? lol im confused!

well I can't answer whether or not they went out yet because I don't know. For us, all our guests who received our STD have our wedding link which we included on the STD. On the website, we have links to our registeries, so if certain family members are looking at the registry they may just decide to buy stuff now (maybe stuff was on sale at the time and they wanted to get a good deal). Maybe that's the same deal with Weezy?

EDIT: and I am totally my mother's daughter and do the same exact thing! I get a shower invite and I will literally buy a gift the day after I give my RSVP LOL
