Damn, people are nasty!

I posted about my apartment on theknot.com, those girls over there are so damn rude and nasty!!

I know I posted it under planning and etiquette board, but I figured I would go where there was more traffic, like we do here on the BHB board.

Some girls here get a little annoyed, but they were so NASTY!!!!! I ended up deleting the post. Someone actually replied something like, 'nobody wants your sh!t' Can you believe them.

I don't go over there, because I hate the set up of their chat rooms. I figured maybe someone over there is in need of an apartment.

I think I will pretty much take them off my favorites list.

Like I said MANY TIMES.... cross-posting threads to more than one forum 'to get more attention' is severely frowned upon (poor net-tiquette) on mostly all websites on the internet.

I am really surprised that Ron does not enforce this as well. Consider LIW the exception to the rule.

Perfect example... people complained about wanting a 'Pets' board. It only took about a week after it was created for people to start posting their pet stories in NWR (where it doesn't really belong anymore). They say 'well Pets dont get a lot of traffic'.

But maybe if you didn't bother cross-posting or post over there reguarly and not make exceptions to the rule... you would get more traffic on the Pets board and not have that problem in the first place.

I don't have a problem with the vent.

I am just explaining why this probably happened so people could understand better. I know a lot of girls take LIW as 'the only website they post to.'

I don't think somebody should say 'We don't want your s---'. But when you venture away from LIW... people should realize that there are a list of 'unwritten rules on the internet' that people just follow... or get flamed.

I am just playing devils advocate... thats all.

regardless of what Jola's post was, I agree that the knot is MUCH more hostile than our nice happy LIW! I also found that it got to be a bit ridiculous and I just stopped posting and visiting. (My knot name was Craigy's Girl)Before the wedding it was nice for info, but I feel like there's hardly any Newlywed presence there. It seems like those knotties will do anything to start a fight too! They really are a lot nastier - just pointless putdowns to a lot of the posts I used to read there. One time I was even accused of being a troll!! ME!!!! All I did was talk about a bad experience I had at a certain bridal shop and this girl comes out of nowhere and says I'm a troll! - apparantly you cant rant about a vendor over there, bc that means that you are that vendor's competition and you're only trying to promote yourself?!?!? I used to post daily on the knot, and didn't even mention any other stores in my rant, so I have no idea where she got that from! I was like 'wow, I'm just venting - calm down!!' A few other knotties actually vouched for me in return, but I was so offended that someone would say that to me! After that I just said forget it and came over here - where I'm MUCH happier :)

Sorry you had a bad response Jola, but I think you should stay over here with your nice LIW pals from now on

Kotka is feminine for kitten
and I call him Kotek masculine for kitten.
and 421 is the day we first met and started going out 4/21/02

Are you serious? I'm sure no one cares about a pet question on NWR. I post my puppy pics and get lots of positive responses. Alot of people like the pics.

I can't believe that I am gonna have to check it out for myself!

and personally, I think it is silly for people to get annoyed when you cross post - seriously what is the big deal

Jola - I can't believe people were that nasty to you. No matter what the reason, I don't see the point in being like that.

But, I see where DJPill is coming from...we have all these forums that were provided because posters asked for them. Why don't people use them? It's not a slam against cute puppy pictures or a great chicken recipe but why ask for a board and then stop using it?
