Re: dance lesson question
We have been taking lessons with Joe at Remember When in St. James. It is $55/hour, private lesson, no contracts. We love it there.

Re: dance lesson question
My friends gave us a gift certificate for my b-day for 6 private lessons, but I don't think we're going to choreograph our first dance. We're probably just going to want to be close to one another, we don't need the added pressure of remembering a routine. We want to learn different steps so that throughout the night we can impress people with our twinkle toes!

Re: dance lesson question
dance lessons are expensive no matter how you look at it...
what we did is sign up for group lessons at sandra cameron. if one takes advantage of all the practice sessions, one can get decent flight time per month. it's practice that really makes the difference. also, FH and i have gone to certain venues outside of the dance center that have dancing for $15 a night where we practice the moves we learn in class.
another thing one can do is go around to various dance studios and take their free intro classes or attend one of the 'guest nights'. a lot of places do this as a try/buy, by going to these you can figure out which one you like best and walk away with some free moves!

Re: dance lesson question
We used this lady we had good results- we were fine after 2 lessons- her # is 516-364-7596. She is very nice and patient. I highly recommend her.
