Dance lessons?

Have any of you brides taken private dance lessons with your grooms? I'm looking for a good not so expensive instructor.

We used Cooperative Partners- Victor Goldman (ads on this site under Wedding Services). He was great! We took 6 1-hour lessons and paid $70/lesson. He was worth every penny.

We have been taking lessons for 3 years, its a 'date night', and started long before we were engaged. We take lessons at a small studio in East Islip. The lessons are about $30 each.

my fiance and i just started taking lessons about 1 month ago at arthur murray in merrick! we love it! we are learnign 5 different forms of dance and they are also going to choreograph our wedding song! they give you a free half hour trial class...then you can take a starter program which is 200 for 4 1/2 hour private sessions! after that you will know if you would like to continue or not if you do then they work out the price depending on how many dances you want to learn. just for an idea we are learning 5 dances which is 75- 45 minute private classes and that ran us 2,997!

We took classes through Nassau Community College Continuing Education and loved it! It was 10 classes for $85. They classes were small-about 3-6 couples. The female instructor also gives private lessons but I don't know what they cost. She is great...don't be fooled-she may come across as tough but she is a big softie!

I would LOVE it if FH would take dance lessons w/ me but I don't think that will ever happen.

DH and I took lessons for about 7 months at Fred Astaire in Garden City. It was a lot of fun and although he froze up and forgot most of our choreographed first dance, he knew enough to get through it and still look good.

Yeah thanks for bringing up the topic, i wonder when you should start? They also offer it at alot of libraries, my library did for 10$ a lesson but i was too busy to take it in the fall I may try for spring before my May wedding
