Dance Lessons

Hi ladies!

My fiance and I would like to take dance lessons so we look like we know what we're doing during our first dance! ;)

We live in Forest Hills and are willing to travel to LI or NYC ... any places that you recommend?

And any suggestion regarding the amount of dance lessons that we take?

We used John from Ballroom Dance LI. He choreographed our entire first dance and then taught us a few other things. I think we had a total of 6 lessons.

About how much does this run and is it private?? This sounds awesome!!

We worked with John from Ballroom Dance LI. We did a total of 5 lessons. We will be continuing after the wedding. We choreographed a whole wedding dance and also did some swing and some 'freestlye' to help get FH more comfortable. John is an absolute sweetheart. He seriously makes you fee SO comfortable and it's so much fun.

I bought at Christmas time and got an introductory special that was 2 lessons for $100, and lessons after that were $75. I don't know if that special still exists. I think he also does a free introductory lesson.

they're in Forest Hills - it's the 2nd floor on top of Sam Ash along Queens Boulevard. we loved Linda! simple steps for non-dancers and she took into consideration certain steps/pose that would look perfect in photos

prices are reasonable!

Check out stepping out studios. They are in manhattan and have wedding packages. It takes about 3-4 private lessons I think.

we went here after finding an awesome deal on groupon! they helped us determine which style of dance went best with our first dance song. then we learned some moves to put it all together. we did not do private lessons (groupon was for regular classes). so i choreographed our routine and we practiced. i think it went great
