DANCE LESSONS! (And need 1st dance HELP!)

DANCE LESSONS! (And need 1st dance HELP!)

my FH and i are investing in dance lessons--since the part of him that is white (he's 1/2 puerto rican) lacks rythmn...and while i can fake it among a crowd...it pains me to admit i am a latina not quite blessed with the same rythmn as my family members. (instead i must have stood in line twice when they were handing out spanish T&A!)

i have to say---the dance lessons are actually really fun! we're doing private lessons, and it's just him and I and the teacher. you really gotta work together and lean on each other...and TRUST your man----cause he HAS to lead!! (this is sooooo hard for me...cause i'm used to leading since he never does when we dance)

anyways--we STILL need our first dance song...so we can practice to it! can i get some romantic first dance songs from you ladies?????

it's from this site. you can maybe get some ideas.

but there's no song that represents the 2 of you? or a particular artist you both like?

one of my faves that's not on that list is 'let's stay together' by Al Green. love love love that song!

no...we have no meaning!

we considered a marc anthony song 'My Baby You' -- but now we don't like the idea of dancing to it. so we're trying to pick something else! ugh---i hate this crap!

nah don't use that song, he wrote it for his daughter...how about something funky, you two sound like a fun bunch, pick a song with a slow begining and then BAM bring out the dance moves! I think it would be great!

My Faves:

Please Forgive Me and Everything I do by Bryan Adams

Maybe I'm Amazed by Paul McCartney

All the Way Frank Sinatra (classic)

Beautiful in my Eyes -Josh Kaddison

You Sang to Me -Marc Anthony (I LOVE his love songs)

We are using Forever and for Always by Shania Twain

But I also really like You've got a Way by Shania Twain

My FH and I are using 'You had me from hello' by Kenny Chestney. it's a country song, but is so beautiful.

We're using 'first, last, everything'. I wanted to do something different for our dance, and I'm not a big slow dance fan. We're going to take Hustle and Disco dancing lessons next summer.

What type of lessons are you taking? Maybe you could find a sexy tango song?
