Dance lessons - can songs be too slow?

Dance lessons - can songs be too slow?
Tonight is our first meeting w/the instructor. I was wondering if anyone (that took lessons) had a song and the instructor said it was impossible to dance to? I am worried my song is way too slow to compose a dance that would go well with it (the song is Let this be Our Prayer - Celine Dion & Andrea Bocelli)?TIA!

That happened to us. We picked Suddenly from Billy Ocean and it was crystal clear that it was too slow for us to dance to. We had to change songs.ETA: We did take lessons and tried to choreograph our first dance using that song.
