Dance with dad and step-dad?
My dad is walking me down the aisle and is wonderful. But I also have the greatest Step-father. He and my mom have been married for 15 years and been together for over 20! So he has been around since i was like 6 years old! I know my mom wants me to dance with him at the reception but I am affraid it might hurt my real dad. They are on good terms and get along when together but I don't know? I am having my step-dad be part of the ceremony by lighting candles with my mom and that is before me and dad walk in, so my dad wont even see that so I am not worried about that but I am affriad if I dance a seperate dance with my step-dad my real dad might feel slighted. What do you think? Maybe I can just grab step-dad and dance with him without making a big deal or announcement?

I am dancing with both my Dad & Step Dad. My Dad's dance will be at the beginning of the night & my Step Dad dance will be right before the cake.

Re: Dance with dad and step-dad?
I would dance with both as long as that's what you want and not doing it just to make other people happy.

Re: Dance with dad and step-dad?
Just tell your father that you want to include your stepfather in the wedding ceremony so you are having him and your mom light a candle- don't sneak it by him. Then tell him that you would like to tell him that you want to dance with both of them during the reception. I am sure your father knows you love this man and will be happy to let him have his moment with you as well. Trying to sneak something IMO is more hurtful than just telling your dad the whole story.Welcome New Vendors
