Dancing at the Reception...
Our MC told us that the bride and groom are what makes the party. I know that, but he said we'll have to be dancing a lot. We told him, WE CAN'T DANCE. For one, we stink, and two, I am too shy! I think I'll be ok with the slow dancing, and maybe the participation dances, but just dancing to any other song, I don't think I can do. Is there anyone else here that just can't dance??? We're going to be humiliated. I don't think we could do it.

I HATE to say it - but my FH can't dance! I like to affectionately call him 'Dr. Rhythm'...he doesn't enjoy dancing either! I dread that part of the wedding reception, because I love to dance...once he gets a couple of drinks in him, well I'm hoping he doesn't mind as much. People will be dancing either way - and you'll be so happy and excited, maybe you'll feel less tense about it and let loose! Enjoy yourself the best way you know how!

There are a few dance instructors that offer lessons to bride and grooms to help them feel more comfortable and confident dancing. You might want to consider it. Even go to a few clubs with friends and 'practice'. You do not have to dance your entire reception but if you want to, who cares about good or bad. This isn't a contest. If you are having fun that is what matters.

I think your MC is correct - if you dont dance, few others will. I can totally sympathsize b/c neither I nor my FH can dance either but we will definitely be taking dance lessons before the big day (still picking a studio). They can be expensive but its an investment - if you take them you will be able to dance together for the rest of your lives!

FH HATES to dance, but when he has a few drinks, he will dance at weddings and he looks silly, but CUTE!!! We, too, are taking dancing lessons...we are going to learn for our first dance and flemenco (FHs family is from Spain), hopefully he will pick up a few fast dance moves... BTW: while looking for a video, I saw a video of a bride who had WAY TOO much to drink and looked like a fool, alcohol will loosen you up, but too much can backfire... good luck

Dancing should be fun. Don't worry too much the more you worry the harder it is. Believe me my FH can't dance but i know he will try and thats all that matters. I also asked the video person not to tape us the whole time. I only want to be taped while we are slow dancing. If you are so unsure of yourself take some dancing lessons.Welcome New Vendors
