Re: Dancing Lessons
We took private lesson at Cooperative Partners (ads on this site under Wedding Services) and it was great. I highly recommend it.

Re: Dancing Lessons
To answer you no I don't have an arthur murray close by me. I live in Holbrook and I think Bayside is a little too far for me to travel LOL
But that was a good question?????????? How soon do you start taking lessons???

Re: Dancing Lessons
I know that there is an Arthur Murray in Merrick on Merrick Road, just a little bit east of the Meadowbrook Pkwy. Don't know if its too far for you, but its a bit closer than Bayside. Check to see if they have a website. They would probably list their locations.

Re: Dancing Lessons
We went to try out Fred Astaire and he actually enjoyed the 2 trial lessons, so now he doesn't mind...
Maybe ask him to give it a try?

Re: Dancing Lessons
FH fought with me the whole way to our trial lesson - complaining, 'I don't understand why we have to do this, it's so stupid'....now while I'm cleaning or cooking he grabs me and starts dancing with me, it's really cute! We've been going to Fred Astaire in Garden City.

Re: Dancing Lessons
Nope. We didn't take any dancing lessons but sometimes I wish we did. In fact we didn't really practice at all but our first dance went well with slight mistakes that nobody noticed, not even our video can one spot it. Honestly, we didn't have the time or money for dancing lessons. I used to go clubbing during my college days many moons ago so that helped a lot with the fast songs during the night. DH hates clubbing and never really did until after the wedding on a business trip in Florida of Disney's Pleasure Island. However, there are 'how to' instructional videos on dancing lessons if you want to learn but can't afford the lessons.
