dancing with mom, too

Hi, is anyone dancing with both their dad and mom. I want to dance with my mom too, we love the song If I could by Barbra Striesand. Just wondering if anyone is dancing with both parents?

I'm not personally, but you should do whatever you want! I think it's a lovely idea!

I am! We're doing 'Do I Make You Proud' by Taylor Hicks

We're doing the 'special dance' overload, but I don't care... it's our special day!

We're doing:

Bride with Dad
Groom with Mom
Bride with Mom
Bride with 2 Brothers while Groom is dancing with 2 sisters (half and half)

And my fiance is dancing to If I Could with his mom, but by Regina Belle.

Ooh, I hadn't thought of that... FH has 2 sisters and I have 2 brothers. I think that's a great idea!

Can I ask what song you're using?

I'm dancing with both my mom too.

We danced together at my Sweet 16 and my engagement party so of course I have to do my wedding too!!

We're going to be dancing to Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Middler.

Re: dancing with mom, too

My Mom walked down the aisle with me and my great uncle, and instead of tossing my bouquet, I presented it to her at the reception. I danced with my uncle. It didn't really occur to me at the time to dance with my mom, but I don't see any reason that you shouldn't do it.

If you're still on the fence though, heres another alternative: In the middle of my husband's dance with his mom, the M.C. invited my husband's father to join them on the dance floor, and the three of them danced (or more correctly swayed, hugged and cried) together. It was very touching. So, if you're concerned about dance overload-- which btw I wouldn't be. It's your day, have it your way!--you could invite your mother to join in while you are dancing with your father. That way they both would be spotlighted withoud adding an extra whole song into the mix.

Re: dancing with mom, too

I am going to do something with my stepmom (my biological mom has been out of my life for over a year and we have had some major issues her and I over the last 10-15 years) sooo as a THANK YOU for being there for me and becoming one of my best friends I want to do something special for her.... she has been listening and being so non judgemental about my situation with my mom she is such a blessing in my life...

I want to dance to one of these songs:

Lyrics: Anytime You Need A Friend - Mariah Carey

Lyrics: Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler
http://www.liweddings.com/planning/wedding_songs/lyrics.aspx?ID=57

Lyrics: How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You) - James Taylor
http://www.liweddings.com/planning/wedding_songs/lyrics.aspx?ID=138

I know there were a couple of other choices that I had but for the life of me I cannot think of them right at this moment!

If you feel you want to have a song with mom I say GO FOR IT!
