DANFORDS ON THE SOUND
I have never been to Danfords, but I was at a wedding at PJCC in July of 2000. It was so beautiful! Lisa

PJCC was wonderful...
we got married there on 9/2/01. Our wedding was absolutely perfect. Steve & Nicole went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was wonderful. We stayed at Danford's the night before the wedding & on the wedding night. It was nice, but we felt they had too much going on at once to be concerned with only our wedding. Any ??? - just ask. DANFORDS ON THE SOUND
I visited Port Jefferson Country Club last year. I made an appointment for 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. My fiance and I sat there until 3pm when we finally walked out. They knew we were waiting but no one even acknowledged us! It is a beautiful place but I thought they were pretty rude and I wasn't going to dish out over $10000 to them. I haven't heard much else about them - They could be great. I might have just had a bad experience.

PJCC
I had the same problem when I visited PJCC in 2000. The person who took us through rushed us and really didn't care about what our interests were or our business. Even though I thought it was lovely I would never spend the money because of the service. BUT I did hear that after that they were changing owners or managers -- so it could have been a case of me catching the folks who knew they were on the way out and wouldn't even be handling our wedding anyway.

PJCC was wonderful...
My wedding was at PJCC last June, and I cannot say enough great things about their service. I completely disagree with Stef28, and feel bad that she had a less-than-perfect experience visiting their facility. I had exactly the opposite experience - everyone we dealt with was wonderful and very accommodating. Since I live in CA, my Mom and Stepdad visited the Club first to take photos. During one of my visits home, I went to the Club again, and the staff went out of their way to make sure they answered all my questions and provided more details. I went back twice more after we booked - once to show my Dad and once to show my husband (then fiance). Each time we visited, they offered us food, drink, whatever we wanted. They made vendor recommendations, and even allowed me to take the linens for my tables to my florist about a week before the wedding for custom decorating. We worked mostly with Preston and Darcy, and sometimes Steve. They are all wonderful. Regarding our menu, they allowed us to upgrade our package b/c they changed their menu choices between our original booking date and the date of our wedding. I highly recommend this reception site! The views are breathtaking, and the atmosphere is truly unique. We were very, very pleased with everything, and our guests still rave about the food and service (8 months later)! It was really nice to be the only affair in the facility. If you have anymore questions, just ask! Good luck!Welcome New Vendors
