Daniel Thompson and Iman Bridal Couture, Old Brookville
hi everyone,
i'm a victim of the bridal couture manhasset (BCM) shut-down, and i really feel that those of us who purchased gowns from them have been scammed.
from what i understand, the owner of BCM (geraldine lopinto??) amassed about $25,000 worth of deposits and promptly closed up shop. from some of her customers, she asked for payment in full - and got it.
i'm writing this post because i really want to commend my dress designer, daniel thompson, and iman of iman bridal couture in glen head/old brookville for the work they've done to insure that my dress was all taken care of. neither of them is at all responsible for the dirty business that took place, and i'd hate to see either suffer or get a bad reputation.
first of all, daniel thompson is probably the nicest person i've met in my whole wedding planning experience. he was helpful, sympathetic, and let me know that i could call him at any time. aside from of all this - i fell in love with his dress before i even put it on. he has an eye for elegance and his designs really stand out.
after receiving the letter from BCM, i called and left a message for daniel. he assuaged my concerns immediately. he called me right back and assured me that everything would be fine... and it was.
two weeks later, daniel drove over 3 hours from out of state to deliver my dress to iman couture in glen head, knowing full well that i was about to lose my mind with all the uncertainty going on. he was really fantastic during the entire process.
for any brides out there considering ordering a gown from daniel, i have to recommend that you GO FOR IT. he is a consummate professional, does amazing work, and cares about his brides. you will not be let down.

i'd also like to thank iman for welcoming me and other BCM brides into her shop for alterations. she is aware of what transpired at BCM, and it seems that she sympathizes with those of us who were let down by lopinto. iman has been nothing but sweet, understanding, and accommodating. like daniel, it's clear that she values her brides' happiness and satisfaction, and tries to make each of our experiences pleasant and stress-free.
i will definitely be having my alterations done at iman's, and i look forward to the beautiful work that will be done on my already gorgeous dress.

NOW, all that said... this woman geraldine lopinto really really should be ashamed of herself. what kind of person promises the world to girls about to have the most special day of their lives, and then disappears?!?!? apparently, she is from a family of cheaters, as well (rumor has it that her brother pulled a similar stunt in this business...)
i hope that this review sets aside any doubts that anyone out there may have had about either daniel or iman. neither of them were at all responsible for BCM's dirty business, and i just wanted to shed some light on how wonderful both are to work with.
