Re: Dark Wood Furniture? Light?
I love the darker wood. One thing to consider is that with dark furniture it never looks clean. My bedroom furniture is an espresso finish and even after wiping it clean you still see the dust. Drives me kind of crazy.
Darker pieces look better if they are simple, if it's a detailed piece it may look better in light wood. If you have a pic would love to see!

DEFNIETLY dark wood. i prefer a collection of various types of wood and tones, not a fan of the matched wood 'collection'.
i.e: in the den we have 2 antique end tables (both in an espresso color but different styles and wood tones), an upholstered wood chair in a medium wood tone and a coffee table and bookcases (entertainment center) in mahogany. even though the wood doesn't all match, it flows really nice.

I have a hard time voting because I LOVE dark wood, everything in our living room is cherry. But I hate that it always looks like it needs to be dusted! If you are a neat freak (like my DH) an oak might be better because it hides dust better!

Fan of cherry, maple and walnut. (Sounds like a good sundae!)
