Peter Luger in Brooklyn is great! You can also try Uncle Jack's on Bell Blvd. in Bayside. FI loves this place.

There is also a Peter Luger in Great Neck but the original in Bklyn, (Willaimsburg) is supposed to be better.

I've never been to Austin's but have recently heard great things!! In Bay Ridge there are so many great restaurants that serve steak and are not necessarily 'Steak Houses'. If you are open to trying one of these...try Areo's, Pearl Room or Samm's. Pearl Room and Samm's have a nice romantic atmosphere. Good Luck!

Love Peter Lugars - bit on the 'pricier' side of meals, but AUSTIN's is right in my neighborhood and the food is amazing! VERY CUTE PLACE too - brand spanking new!

Peter Luger's is very good but at the same time pretty pricy. I know you're looking for a place in either Queens or Brooklyn, but if you do decide to go into the city, try Angelo Maxies on Park Ave. and 19th Street. Awesome food and not pricy at all. The crowd is pretty young but classy, and they play pretty good R&B, Rock, etc...cool place to check out.

Luger's, Morton's, and Burton & Doyle's are all great...but hands down my (and FH's) favorite is Uncle Jack's on Bell Blvd!!!! YUM!

I second what everyone else said...Peter Luger's kicks butt, but my fave is Uncle Jack's (although I'm bias b/c we got engaged there).
