Dating question...

Did anyone not go out with FH straight through from dating through marriage?

Meaning there was a breakup and a reuniting....

Did anyone see someone else during the break up?

We broke up for 2 months we dont talk about it I was hanging out with boys he was with someone else. I had some issues with that but im over it. We have been dating for 8 and a half years I was 14 years old when we met. We dont count the 2 months.

We did, and we both saw other people.

It was what we both needed.

Sometimes when you date someone young without much previous dating experience a break may be in order.

Here ya go CiminoK ... Gregg & I dated in college and split for 6 years! And yes, we did date other people in the interm.

We both met later (I was lke 26 he was like 32) so we had both been there and done that... we have been inseparable since we met

We dated through from 7/99 until now...

My mom used to say she wishes I didnt date some of the people I did before FH but I say I am glad I did otherwise I dont think I would have been prepared to 'settle down' when FH came along, I think all the past experiences we both had are what made me able to see how wonderful he was!!!

FH was my first boyfriend and I was his first girlfriend. We were very young when we first started dating. We ended up dating for 3yrs and breaking up for 6 years and yes we both dated other people in that time. We really never thought that we'd get back together. Now that we are older and wiser (LOL) we are so glad that we broke up for that time. We have a MUCH better relationship this time around and know how to treat one another.

OK I'm the exception here ...

I'm probably a little older than some of you ladies on here, FH is younger than me by 4 years..

NO time for us to take a break! We met over a year ago and didn't date at first .. we lived 1.5 hours apart so we just talked online and phone (I was being cautious).

Even so, we pretty much 'fell in love' that way.. 3 mos later when we met in the flesh and started dating for real, it was true love and we were inseperable. He moved in w/me in October '03, and we were engaged in Dec '03... Now we're getting married in July '04!!

Talk about a whirlwind! (and b/f him, I had just about given up on meeting anyone anymore ... )

He is truly my soulmate!

I corrct myself...it was the 6 month mark! not 1 1/2!!

I did...and the whole time before the break up, a guy I was dating that left for boot camp would call me once a week or so....during the 'break' he came home and we hung out, I dated another ex, and some new guys...went out clubbing and drinking with the girls to meet guys (never majorly hooked up though!) and when FH and I were easing back into things...I was honest with him and told him when I was on a date if he called me or who I was hanging out with. I guess it made him realize something....cuz I chose him over all the others. The entire time, I just wanted to be with him...but he needed to work on some emotional stuff and his past....I never did anything I couldn't tell him or that I thought I might regret in the future

FH and I dated for about a year then he dumped me. We were apart for about 5 months. He was seeing alot of people here in NYC while I was stuck doing theatre in the middle of nowhere. When I came bak we started talking but he wanted to take it slowly because he was still having 'issuses'. So, I decided that I should see some other people. I went out with one other person and FH decided that I was the one. I played hard to get for about a month but finally gave in and here we are getting married in less then 5 months.

Straight through...no breaks.
Will be six years in July, and we were married this past October.
