What is an embollism?

A blood clot that traveled to his lungs. It caused his heart to go into shock.

It is so sad that he was so young and had 3 kids. May he rest in peace.

I couldn't believe it when I heard I've watched him on Channel 4 so often, I felt like I knew him personally. He was too young to pass away

That is so sad. To be so far away from home and die like that...his poor family.
I used to watch him every Saturday morning.

The same thing happened to my father...but thatnk goodness they caught it right before it got to his lungs...and they did emergency surgery on him...Now he has to be very careful when sitting for long periods of time...is on blood thinners...and can never use a razor ever again...

thats why its very important that you do get up and walk around on planes or whenever you sit for a long time...like at a play. etc

and for all the PG women...this goes double...it is very common for PG women...a woman I work with's daughter had it...they found it and they had to give her a caesarian...but b/c of the scars they couldn't give her blood thinners...and she waited in bed to die...didn't even want to see the baby...thank goodness the clot didn't move...but its so serious!!!

I can truly say 'There but for the grace of God go I'. I have a very extensive blood clot in my leg that could have easily traveled to my heart, lungs or brain. I was so very fortunate that it didn't and that I eventually had symptoms (severe swelling) that allowed it to be diagnosed. Many people are not that lucky, David Bloom unfortunately, and never see or have symptoms until it is too late. I now take anti-coagulant drugs every day and that reduces the chances that a piece of the clot will break off and travel elsewhere. Something like this hits way too close to home.

This is sooo sad, my heart breaks every time we lose another one of 'our own' , or ANY innocent life in Iraq...which seems to be way too often... My heart and soul goes out to these families...
