I feel very bad. David Bloom who was in Iraq & was the host of the Weekend Today show died of an embollism. He was only 39 with a wife & three kids. I feel so bad.

I heard this yesterday morning and could not believe it. I hope his family has a lot of support...Still doesn't seem real.

My heart goes out to his wife and kids. It's soo sad. Life is just so unpredictable...I mean here's a guy who is broadcasting in the middle of the war - in the center of combat - and dies of an embolism. Rest in peace

It's horribly sad, but to make it worse I read one report from another reporter that was with the same unit that he did have symptoms for 3 days, and ignored the advice of his doctors back home and in the field to leave and get medical treatment- he just took asprin and kept working

I was saddened too, and in shock. I saw the 'In Memory' during the Central Park jogger show with Katie Couric. I immediately went upstairs and went online. My FH was sound asleep. I was pleased to read that it wasn't war related but still to have passed away, away from home, his wife has no closer. I loved watching him and Solidad on Sunday mornings. There's something wrong with this world? Why take the good ones and leave the rotten ones with us?
