David's Bridal
Hi, this is Giovanna and i was wondering if any of you ladies out there have gotten your gown at david's bridal, the location in queens that is. It's by northern blvd. If you have gotten your dress there can you tell me about your experience with them? so far they have been nice to me. My wedding is in July 2003 and my gown is in and i have to store it in my closet until i start going for my fittings in march. I then have 3 fittings to go to. Will my dress change color by then? I am concerned about that.

Re: David's Bridal
I think your dress will be fine, mine has been in a plastiic gament bag for 3 months and its fine, my mom takes it out for a few minutes every once in a while. Davids in Carle Place is where I got my dress, I have bben told numerous times not to let them alter it bc they do a terrible job and they have been known to dirty dresses bc their steamer water is dirty or something like that. I'm not familiar with the one in Queens, sorry!

Re: David's Bridal
no, not after all the warnings I've gotten. There's a little place in Garden City on Franklin Avenue that I went to a lon gtime ago to have a BM dress altered, I might try there. I don't need much, just the hem and the bustle.

I got my bridesmaids dresses from the David's in Astoria (I'm from Astoria also, where are you from?). There were no problems at all with those dresses. One of my friends got her bridal dress there also, and she had no problems at all with anybody there or with the alterations. The only negative comments I've heard about David's is the one in Carle Place. Don't worry!! Even though I didn't get my gown from David's, I got it from a bridal shop that closed up and re-opened somewhere else, I also kept my dress in my sister's closet for about 5 months and nothing happened to it. I took it out of the shop because I was afraid that she would close up and I'd be out of a dress (which almost happened anyway -- my dress and the lady were MIA for about 3 days).
