david's bridal in Westbury?
Has anyone been there?I'm calling right now to make an appointment, and they've had me on hold for a while now... I'm starting to wonder if this trip will just be a big headache! I've heard some iffy things about David's bridal and their customer service...
ug, their hold music leaves something to be desired as well...

Re: david's bridal in Westbury?
I have heard great things and not-so-great things about David's Bridal. I think if you go there during a non-busy time (weeknights, weekdays) and not on a weekend you'll have a good experience. I went on a Saturday afternoon and had a very tough time. The consultant would only stay with me an hour and rushed me through the whole thing. Plus I didn't like being 'on display' in the dresses in front of tons of people...men, women, and children running all over the place. On the other hand, I have been in a wedding where we got our BM dresses there and had a good experience. I think it could go either way! Good luck.

Re: david's bridal in Westbury?
ok, get this - I sit on hold for a while, and finally someone picks up... asking me if I'm calling to see if my dress is ready!Of course I say no, as I've already told 2 or 3 people that I'm calling to make an appointment to try on dresses... and they transfer me again!
Oy. Well, I finally got my appointment... I really feel like I need to check David's out, just for comparison against the more expensive places, because I would love to spend less on my dress, and if I don't, I want to be secure in knowing that I at least gave the cheaper dresses a try (just for the sake of my conscience)
Otherwise I think I might just skip it... that was ridiculous!

I got my dress there. I went on a weeknight and had a good experience. You should look at there dresses online and make a list of styles you like so they can pull them for you when you get there. I think for the prices it can't be beat. I def. reccomend giving it a shot!

Re: david's bridal in Westbury?
I bought my gown there. And I've bought a bridesmaid dress there in the past.Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. They are usually crazy busy, understaffed, and the help can be somewhat rude or uncaring.
But their prices are excellent and they have a pretty good selection.
I basically kept my dealings with them to a minimum. Tried on dresses, picked one, ordered it, it came in really fast, picked it up and I will have it altered somewhere else.
So I'm basically done with them with minimum hassle/discomfort.

Re: david's bridal in Westbury?
I found a dress at David's that I really liked, but it was $800.00 (not an unusal cost for a David's dress) My Maggie Sottero dress that I LOVE wound up costing me $700.00 at the Bridal Garden in Bethpage. I didnt see any dresses I would even consider for under $700.00 at David's. I didnt think many of their dresses were so much cheaper priced than other bridal stores...but hey you never know. Good luck!

This was true for me too. Maybe they were just showing me the higher priced stuff but everything I tried on at David's was in the $800-1100 range. I got my Casablanca at Lillette's for about $1200 and the service alone was worth the little more money. Again, this was just my experience. Hope it helps!
PS...I felt the same way about going to check out David's just for the heck of it.

It's in the plaza where Fortunoff is and next door to the Cheesecake Factory down the road from Roosevelt Field Mall. They just moved to this new location.

This is exactly what I am doing!!! My dress and veil and bra were under $700 and I'm going elsewhere for alterations!
