i also had problems with a friends wedding at the long island city store. they lost our order 3 times in less than a month. not someplace that i intend to get mine or my bridal party's dresses from.

also, about this time last year there was a story in the newspaper about a shipment of dresses to a davids bridal in brooklyn (i think that was the store) that came infested with bugs

OMG! Do you mean the one on 86th Street in Bay Ridge? Ewwww. No wonder they closed.

Re: David's Bridal

I just went to the Carle Place on last Sunday - the place was a zoo, though they were having a major sale. I've heard that it's much better to go there on a weekday. However, they were completely disorganized. I had an appointment and arrived early. I asked if I could pick out dresses to try on before my appointment began and was told 'Absolutely not.' So I sat and waited for my consultant. Once my consultant arrived she said, 'so where are the dresses you've selected to try on.' I said I had photos but I hadn't pulled any from the racks. So she lets out this huff and says 'Well, I guess I'll get them for you.' Okay - fine, whatever.

So the dressing room is packed with people and my mom and my sister are helping me into dresses. I have to say that I found some lovely dresses and their prices are great - spend as little time as you can in CP and don't have your alterations done there.

For my sister's wedding in 2002 we used the DB in Baltimore - it was gorgeous and the people were really really helpful - but then they lost her dress order and she only got her dress a month before the wedding - which is enough time - but she was supposed to get the dress 3 months before.

I recommend going during the week, a week night to Carle Place and scheduling an appointment with Rebecca. She's sooooooo nice. The rest of them are idiots

There are only two around, Carle Place and LIC....If you go to Carle place, the reception people are rude, the manager( my mom requested) was a sweetheart and I ordered my dress and ran, will pick it up and run...I think their moods change daily there...

DITTO--- THe manager (I think her name was Carmela)... Was the ONLY person who was nice to me and Neenie when we went back with our issues of their 'service'...

BUT their prices can't be beat!!! so I say, Order your dress, pick it up, and RUN!

Since I've picked it up, i'm totally happy with the dress... I'm doing alterations elsewhere!

I went to the one in Carle Place and I didn't have a problem. I already picked up my dress and need to take it back in December for alterations...but from I am reading from all you, I'm afraid to go back there.

I might just opt to bring it to someone else for alternations. I don't know that I can deal with any drama before the wedding...plus I have a short temper.

Isn't she so sweet. She really makes you feel like a !!

Did you find a dress? I hope she is still there come May so I don't have to deal with anyone else. She wouldn't even let my mom help me get dressed, she said that is her job, wouldn't let us carry any of the dresses, she's a sweetheart.

She gave me a hug when I left. I think I found my dress. I have to bring my mom with me. We say one of the sales lady who was really nasty.

After reading about all of your experiences I'm a little nervous about ordering from there. I found a dress I really like a Cassini but now I'm really worried to order from DB.

I know that Da vinci makes copies of Cassini dresses and I had heard that the Cassini dresses aren't as good of a quality as the Da Vincis. Has anything heard anything about the Cassini line at DB?
