Does any one have anything (good or bad) to say about using Davids Bridal for Dress alterations. Got the dress from David's Bridal in Glen Cove, should we have them do the alterations or should we go elsewhere, if so any recommendations?
Thanks

Re: David's Bridal
I'd like to hear what everyone has to say here. I've heard that they aren't the best for alterations. Since they are pretty affordable, I was thinking about buying my dress there and finding someone closer to do the alterations.
They have a big sale going on right now :)

My GF got hers done there and was happy with it but then I've heard horror stories from other people (unfortunately more horror than good)

I've heard lots of horror stories, too! My co-worker got her dress there but refused to have them do the alterations. She went to a private seamstress.

Re: David's Bridal
Just went there and got my daughters dress for my brothers wedding and quite honestly I would never step back into that store again. The girls down in the alteration section were hearded up like cattle, I just found out that my daughters dress only matches perfectly to one other girl in the bridal party and the other two don't match at all. The sales women were rude and unattentive and told me they had to order my daughter a size bigger then what she tried on because the dresses were stretched out from everyone trying them on. More like this way they are sure you'll need alterations. Needless to say the dress is now two sizes too big for my daughter and we are having altered somewhere else.

I would not recommend getting Alterationa done there they are extremley exspensive they charge like $50 dollars for a hem.
I suggest taking it to a outside seamtress. My girls got our Bridemaids dresses from there and we are going to another seatress to get alterations that reasonable prices and do great work.
Hope this helps.

Re: David's Bridal
I went there with out an app. They were really nasty to me cause i didn't have one and they told me to leave. So i left and called them to make an app so i keep on calling the phone keep on ringing ang ringing non stop and sometimes they would pick it up and hangup without saying anything. So when i did get an app the girl was not helpful at all. Another day i went there to look for fl dresses and i saw one that i liked and i said to the girl do you have this in lavender she goes no. Then i go around the coner and there it was in the color i just left there cause of there nastyness.

I got my dress at Davids in Long Island City and had the alterations done there too - I had no problems.

Re: David's Bridal
i have to say.. many ladies there are very inconsiderate... Carmella the manager is so nice though. She has helped me through two different situations that happened with my dress and a BM dress. They overcharged my for my dress, it was supposed to be 200 dollars off but they only took 150 dollars off - she fixed that. also one of my BM went there to try on the dress for the size and they had her try on a completely differnt dress tellingher that that was in hte computer- carmella talked me through htat also. I am not sure who to use for alterations - the only thing that i need is a Bussle (sp?). My dress did come in within 11 days after I ordered it so that was cool, and the girls dresses are only going to take 4 weeks, that was nice too! i hope some of this helps good luck

that was fast service. I was thinking of going there for the BM dresses, are the BM dresses reasonable?

Re: David's Bridal
be very very very careful with them. My cousin ordered her dress and BM dresses (i'm in her wedding party). We got the dreesses very quickly after ordering them, but they screwed up the dress sizes, got the MOH dress style wrong and a whole bunch of little things.

Re: David's Bridal
i wouldn't recommend going there. i got all my bridesmaid dresses their and a pair of shoes. i had to bring the shoes back 3 times because they couldn't get it right. i think the biggest problem is their customer service, they have a lot of organizational problems.

Re: David's Bridal
I have a had a great experience with David's Bridal so far....They have all been extremely nice and outgoing and very willing to help...I am not using them to do alterations because I have a seamstress friend where I live.

Re: David's Bridal
I bought my dress there..it came in in 2 weeks, it was fine, but I took it and ran. Looked on here for seamstress recomendations, ended up going to another bridal salon my BM used who said they would do me a favor by letting me get it altered there.
I would not take the chance on their alterations, even though I have heard some come out great, why chance it?
