which one did you go to? I just had to exchange my dress and I had no problem (and believe me -- with the history of bad customer serivce I've had with them I was ready for a fight) this was at the Westbury store.

There is absolutely NO reason why they can't at least give you store credit!

Call the corporate HQ and tell them what happened.

wel i know you def. cant get your money back but as long as its 3 months prior to the date you can exchange it ... i had exchange a drss there cause i was no longer gong to be in a BP but the thing is you have to pick everything you want that day they told me they dont give store credit were you can come back and then spend it HTH

i will NEVER EVER go to davids bridal EVER again. they have given me nothing but grief (at least the NY store) i was living in florida and had ordered my dress. the girls over there are fantastic. i've told them about the westbury store and they're shocked and disgusted at how many bad experiences people including myself have had with them. they told me my dress would come in in may (ordered it in january) it came 3 weeks later in NY. . perfect. i found a dress for the bridesmaids to order. it was being discontinued so i told them to all go now (in NY) well on 4 different occassions, the girls went in there, and they told them they dont have the dress on file, that i've never registered there before. such a headache and an inconvienience for my girls. they finally found it on file.

so i ordered my dress 2 sizes too small (i definetely dont recommend doing this) because i knew i was going to lose the weight, but its still a little too snug and i dont want to risk it, so i went in and said i wanted to exchange it for a bigger size (i now live in ny at this moment) the girls gave me such an attitude and said 'you cant if you dont have your receipt' i just moved, you think i know where that thing is?? so i argued and told them where i got the dress, they tell me 'well you need to get the receipt, we cant do anything for you' as they kindly tell me if i order my dress now, it'll come in september 3rd (my weddings the 13th!!) so here i am freaking out and i say 'no. you get the receipt, you call them up and tell them to fax it over' the dumb biyatch tells me 'no, we're not gonna do that' and i keep arguing until a manager comes by and was like 'we can get the receipt for you, no problem' i gave her the dirtiest look ever. they finally get it, dress comes in in 2 weeks. all this worrying for no reason. the dress comes in and they gave me a dinky plastic bag to hold my dress in, when i had the actual bag and gave it in when i exchanged it. i went in 2 days ago, and the doors were locked but were still in there helping people so i shook it (i was determined!!) and shes like 'we're closed' (the same biyatch) and im like i need my bag back. she was like whats the problem with an attitude, i told her that they had taken my garment bag and i need a new one, she says 'do you have a receipt' and i say no i dont have my receipt but you can look it up for me and she says go on that line. when i told the girl the problem, the manager lady is like just give her the bag, you think shes gonna lie about a 10 dollar big. give me a break. uggh. worst customer service EVER!!!! sorry this was long i just hate them with a passion.

I wonder if the receipt say anything about refunds or exchanges??

Which David's Bridal did you go to? I know there are two on Long Island one is in Lake Grove and the other one is in Westbury. I have been to the Lake Grove store and they seem nice and the store was very clean. I am sorry you had such a problem with David's Bridal.

When I went to both locations....Westbury and Lake Grove I didnt have any problem at all in either store.
Guess its like any other place....hit or miss?

I think it's very hit or miss. I have gotten about 4-5 BM dresses there and had no problems ever.

However, I bought my dress at the Westbury store on June 20 and was told it was going to ready for me to pick up in October. I am not getting married until next fall, and I would never have ordered the dress if I thought it would be in sooner. It came in on JUNE 27 .. exactly ONE WEEK after I ordered it!!

Now, I am close to setting a date and place -- but what am I supposed to do with the dress until then??? I got a dinky little plastic bag with it too - I would have thought for the money I spent (which I know is not a lot compared to other designers, but still ... ) I should have gotten a garment bag. I asked the manager for one and was told that since they are in inventory or something they can't give it to me. I think that is a little crazy.

My mom found a bag so she is keeping it in that.

Yeah its kinda crazy how sh!tty the customer service really is.

I left a message for the corporate hdqtrs.

All I want is a store credit.. lol

I regret ever going there.

Same here. I went to exchange my wedding dress for a credit but the woman said I have to use the credit right then and there. They wont just giv eyou a credit and let you come back later...
