Do you really need an appointment if you go on a weekday?

Re: David's Bridal
i would call just to be safe. They'll definitely take you if they can, but when i went with a friend (who did not make an appt) we ended up having to wait an hour. It was such a pain. Ever since then, i ALWAYS make an appointment before going. It only takes a minute to call them.

David's Bridal can be a madhouse, even on a weekday.. I would definitely call and make an appt. Try to go early...

I think you'll have an infinitely better experience if you make an appointment. DB staff are already known for being nasty even when you DO have an appointment (small price to pay for a dress that costs at least $1K less than a fancy boutique in my opinion) so it makes it smoother if you make an appointment.

that's weird, cause I've only had GREAT experiences with them! I've gone a few times - with friends on their wedding days, and then trying on my own gown, again for BM dresses. And every single time the people were SOOO helpful & attentive. Especially when i was trying on wedding dresses. OMG - they made it seem as though i was the only bride in the entire store. Constantly at my beck & call. Maybe the one you went to just has bad employees

Oh not me! I had a good experience every time I went for me. When my sister got hers, she had nasty ladies and I've just heard things on this board. It's just better to play it safe and get them when they're in a better mood.

wow, that's bad that people would be rude to somebody trying on Wedding Gowns. That's a VERY exciting experience for a bride-to-be, I don't get why somebody would try to ruin that.
But yeah, i agree with you! I think they're more likely to get 'short' with you if you just show up without an appt and expect to be helped.
