david's bridal

So I went into David's Bridal and wanted to try on a couple dresses....the lady said pick the styles from the book so I did....when I picked my style she basically told me that I couldn't get those dresses b/c I was too big.....I was practically in tears...but the skinny lady she was s excited for her and helped her with no prob and made her feel special...I thought that was the point of a bridal consultant.....NO MORE DAVID's Bridal for me....I went to a boutique and it was the total opposite I picked my dresses and tried them on and they made me feel so beautiful...

I just had a baby 5 mths ago so I still have a far way to go to get back to my size 6 pants.....its just so depressing and horrible that David's Bridal treat people this way...A bride should feel beautiful and love the experience of finding her dress regardless of size

I've heard people on this board say DB was horrible but now I have first hand experience.

I am so sorry that you had this kind of experience there. My sister was a plus size bride and she went to davids for her dress and they treated her like royalty...it all depends on the store you go to. I'm soo sorry that they made you feel that way.

OMG, what's wrong with people. David's Bridal really needs to teach their consultant's manners. I'm so sorry she was so rude to you.

Don't let people like that get to you, screw them.

OMG!!! That is HORRIBLE! Which one did you go to? Some many ladies on these boards had terrible experiences with them. I went with my cousin - who is bigger than average and they were wonderful to her at the one in NJ. And all 6 BMs were treated well too. We went back there for another wedding and again...really nice and helpful. Not a lot of crowding attention, but they fetched our dresses, helped us with the shoes, and very nice. The ne in Westchester was nice too. I never had an issue with the one in Brooklyn - when it was there. I don't think I'll go to any DB in LI though.... What horror stories. I hope you report this witch to their corp. No one should treat anyone like that...ever. Soooo mean.

Thanks Ladies!!!! iT IS SO HORRIBLE. i'D RATHER SPEND 1K THAN SPEND $99 FOR THAT HORRIBLE SERVICE

I went to the one in Sunrise, Florida. I live in FL but getting married in LI. I will be reporting 'that witch' I loved that one Nina to DB first thing tomorrow

OMG! I cannot believe that!!! You definitely need to call or email Davids Bridal and report that woman! I can't believe that. I am so sorry you had to go through that

Wow that was rude of her. I hear so many horror stories about davids bridal - we're getting bridesmaid dresses from there - haven't ordered yet - I hope we don't have any issues...

Sorry for your bad experience. I have had a similar experience at DB. Try not to take it personally. People that treat other people poorly are living in their own personal hell and they try to lash out on anyone they can. Be sad for her, but at the same time....report her!!!

You are right. I guess it hurt lot too because I think she made me feel horrible at the moment

Ya, been there. My bridesmaids are larger girls and DB basically told them that they only do minimal alterations and that they would need major alterations including back panels to get the dress to fit them and that they can't order extra material to make the dresses bigger...sorry. I was out the door in a flash! I would never subject my friends to that treatment. If we are going to spend thousands at your store you had better treat us like gold.
