I got my dress there...if you go to the Westbury one, ask for Donna. She was awesome. She also helped my BM's with their dresses.
Basically, DB is great if you can deal with not having smoke blown up your @ss and don't mind a less-than-plush setting, and if you're working with a small budget.
Good luck!
I am totally ok with all that, Kris. I'm not a high end kinda girl. But these people were so rude when we went And it was like 3pm on a Tuesday.

I would only go to the one in Massapequa, Ask for Rosa--she is AMAZING!!!!! I had the best experience ever.
I agree! I didn't think I was going to get a dress there but I did and it was UNDER $1000!!! Rosa was the best to work with!

Re: Davids Bridal
just be careful when you go...
1.) There are no caps on alterations
2.) They tend to not inform you when the dresses come in (like they are supposed to).
3.) Make sure to make an appointment and confirm the day before (they forgot to put me in the computer!!)

Re: Davids Bridal
I was so against getting my dress there, not sure why but I didn't want anything to do with it. Moral of the story... I ended up buying my dress there it was the only place I found EXACTLY what I was looking for. I'd say go, whats the worst that can happen.

Re: Davids Bridal
I went to the one in Westbury for my bridesmaid dresses. I didn't want them to spend a lot and wanted it to match the tuxes from Men's Wearhouse. The assistant was extremely rude and unhelpful. A few things that bothered me:
I came with two style numbers (for long dresses) written down I wanted the girls to try. She took my paper and says 'So do you know what style you like?'.
She yelled to my girls 'what size are you' when it could have been done discretely
She disappeared when we were trying on the dresses
When my girls asked if one dress came with straps or in a certain color she said no. Then we found on the dress the clip for the straps and the seamstress came over and confirmed the dress came in the color. She didn't apologize or say anything, just walked away!
The dresses came in and I love the color. So hopefully you will have a more competent assistant!

I liked the one in Manhattan the most. Make an appointment first.

Re: Davids Bridal
hmm... go check it out first to have an idea what style you want (they have the basic gown 'shapes'). you never know if THE one is there until you check it out!

Thats weird, I ordered by dress from DB and they told me there were caps on the alterations and bustle Is it specific to store? Cuz I didn't get mine in NY.
Anyway, you should definitely check them out. I went there not having a clue what I wanted and just to get my feet wet dress shopping, and I ended up going back and buying the 3rd dress I tried on there after going to 3 other bridal salons!

The dresses are really nice and affordable - it's the service that isn't always great. I had issues at the Lake Grove location, but I've heard great things about Massapequa!!
