im sooo disappointed with Davids Bridal. I walked in the other day just to check it out and decided i wanted to try on dresses. I didnt have an apt but the receptionist said no problem someone should be with you in a few minutes. I was also by myself so this probably didnt help.
I waited about 15 (didnt mind bc i knew i didnt have the apt) I took that time to look through the dresses, and to be honest i didnt find a lot that i was crazy about when the lady met w me, i told her I dont want bright white or lace, and I want sparkle and anqitue white and a long flowly skirt...
the first dress i tried on was the Vera dress w a big flowly skirt. i hated it. i thought it would love it but it did nothing for me. She goes I have the perfect dress for you... she comes back w a WHITE LACE mermaid dress. i tried it on to be nice, and when i came out of the dressing room she was w another bride. she looked at me and said oh thats nice. I said i didnt like it and wanted to try on something else. she stayed w that bride. i was standing there for about 5 minutes in the ugly dress waiting for her to pull another one for me. Finally i go change and when i come out i said maybe i should wait for my mom, she said Yeah good idea have a great day.. and basically pushed me out the door.
I mean i know your busy and all but whats the point of taking an apt if you dont take the time to spend with them. SORRY DB but you just lost my business....

Re: Davids Bridal
Which one did you go to? I had a similar experience as a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding. They were soooo rude! I found a dress myself and went to buy it, but the cashier was like oh who helped you? I said no one. She's like well someone HAD to help you. And I was like uhm, no, someone let me into a dressing room and then walked away and never came back!
Sorry you had to deal with that

Re: Davids Bridal
i had a similar experience only I was with my mom. I was turned off by the little attention they paid me but i did not have an appointment and went on a wimp like you did. I really liked the attention I received at Helens in Commack. I def recommend this place! But you need an appointment.
Ps- I think I tried on the same Vera Wang

Re: Davids Bridal
I HATE David's Bridal. I went to the Massapequa & Westbury one and I had by far the worst experience and it was only for flowergirl dresses.
Their return policy is HORRIBLE and their help isn't even help. I bought 3 flowergirl dresses and wound up liking only one of them and they wouldn't give me a store credit. I had to either exchange the merchandise right then and there that night OR come back another night and purchase $200 worth of stuff from them on another night.

Re: Davids Bridal
I recently went to the DB in lake grove to get measured for a bridesmaid dress and left with my blood boiling. They brought me the wrong size dress and left me for FIFTEEN MINUTES awkwardly standing in the dressing room waiting for another dress. I go to the register to order the dress and notice the price is 50.00 more than what I thought the dress was. I asked if they were SURE this was this dress and they rudly argued with me. I tried to check my email for the style number but had no service in the store and the cashier was clearly getting really impatient with me, sighing and tapping her fingers on the table.... I paid but knew something wasent right so I double checked the style number at the door and sure enough it was the wrong dress. I nicely explained somehow there was a mix up and this was the wrong dress and the RUDE cashier says 'Sorry. No refunds.' I had to ask for the manager to fix the problem. Needless to say I will not refer anyone to Davids Bridal.

Re: Davids Bridal
I had the same experience at David's Bridal! I didnt have an appointment and they basically could care less about me. I carried the dresses to the fitting room myself and then had no help from anyone once I got the dress on. Be prepared, they will not call you about once a month or more to try to get you to come back in. I thought it was the worst customer service.

Re: Davids Bridal
I actually was there today, the lady led us the dressing room and never came back. So we just tried on whatever we wanted and left. We never saw her again.

Re: Davids Bridal
I also had a horrible first experience at DB. I went in with an appointment and they sat me down with a catalog to pick out dresses that I like. I was instructed to fold over the pages. Then, I finally get a saleswoman and she just hands me this underskirt which I kind of had no clue what to do with and then just hands me a dress and didn't even help. They just kept yessing me that everything looked great. I have gotten better service at smaller boutiques. Sorry you had to go through that, too.

Re: Davids Bridal
It stinks but if you pay more, you get more. I went there AFTER going to other places that cater to you and it was a big letdown. You should have a much better experience at other places.

Re: Davids Bridal
We went shopping for the bm dresses and had a similar experience. The women lead us to our fitting room and completely disappeared. We were walkins as well but were assured they would take care of us. We ended up leaving due to the lack of attention & the dresses were just not flattering.

Re: Davids Bridal
Not only do they not show you any attention, they also don't know how much their dresses cost. I ordered my dress there right after Christmas. My appointment was for 7 and nobody helped me until 7:25 and the store was EMPTY. She brought me most of the dresses I had picked out of their catalog, some in a smaller size than what I needed and when I questioned her about that she said people put them back in the wrong spot so she just grabs whats there. I fell in love with a dress (and so did my mom) so I was all set to order but they told me I had to take the floor sample, it couldn't be ordered, it didn't come in any other color but ivory and it was $XXX. It wasn't sitting right with me so we left with no dress but I really loved it so when I got home I looked on their website, the dress was $xx (about $300 less), could be ordered, and came in both white and ivory. Needless to say I didn't want to give them my business but I didn't want to lose the dress so I caved and ordered over the phone where they told me they would mail me a receipt which they never did. The dress came in and is perfect but they should really know the correct info on their dresses.

Re: Davids Bridal
For future reference, the trick to going to DB with no problems is to not go during the weekend and go during the day on a weekday. They are very empty during that time and help better.
Also, research before you go. I bought my dress from DB in Westbury. I printed out the 7 dresses i wanted to try on and the lady fetched them for me. I didn't have to try on randm dresses because i already looked through all of them on the website for my favorites.
Also, remember that they probably have at the most 5 attendants per store so if it is busy they have to care for more than one bride. So if your looking for a personalized experience than i suggest a smaller boutique because DB is a bridal warehouse not a salon.

Re: Davids Bridal
Yeah. I realized this too! Davids Bridal does not care about anything. They will pull a dress or two and then you wont see them again. If you decide to go there I suggest going with friends/family that dont mind helping you pick out and getting into dresses. You wont get any help at any location.

Re: Davids Bridal
The DB on 6th Ave and the one in Westbury were both wonderful to my and my bridesmaids. I'm sorry to see so many people had bad experiences. Perhaps you're misinterpreting being busy as being rude?

THIS! went to the DB in Massapequa just to figure out what size I needed for a BM dress and the woman ignored as I tried to flag her down from the dressing room to ask for help. I guess they figured they already had my business and didn't need to make the process any easier for me

Re: Davids Bridal
DB's 'consultants' are college girls who probably just needed jobs (not that there's anything wrong with this.. but they aren't going to be as knowledgeable as other smaller stores other than their opinion on what looks nice). They're customer service really stinks though. And forget their alterations dept. I would never get anything done there after previous experiences!
