Re: Davids Bridal
I ordered my wedding gown from there. They were supposed to call me in a certain amount of time when my dress was to arrive. Too much time passed so I called to see if it arrived. Everytime I was put on hold and they were too busy to answer me so I went there. Thats when I found out they didn't know where my dress was. I spoke with a manager who promised to find my dress within a week to a week and a half. She did exactly that. She found my dress at another location. I picked it up and had my alterations done somewhere else so I wouldn't take any more chances with them. Just follow up with them and make sure that your dresses are in when promised. If you are unsure, have your alterations done somewhere else too. I'm sure it will be fine.

I used them. Yes thing were disorganized and many of the people working there are over worked, but my dress came in very early and fit me perfect on my wedding day. In fact we did have some problems with the dresses not fitting my bm's, but they took care of it and I was happy. I have no hard feelings, actually good ones. Any problem that came up, they fixed.

Re: Davids Bridal
y experience with Davids Bridal was both good and bad. They do seem overworked over there. There was some confusion when I got there as to who was to be my consultant. Unbeknownest to me, they first gave me a bridesmaid consultant instead of a bridal consultant. I started to change in the dressing room to try on the first of my dresses when I asked to move out of my room to another room on the other side where the other brides were trying on dresses. Apparently the lady assigned to me was not supposed to take care of me and she got in trouble. I was a little annoyed, but later I was very happy because I found the dress of my dreams and I actually received my dress earlier than expected. I picked it up 3 weeks later! I wasn't happy though when I went with my bridesmaids to pick out dresses. The lady helping us was not very helpful and they didn't have all the sizes for each style of mix-n-match pieces. We ordered them anyway because we all liked the color and the styles. I'm going to get our dresses altered elsewhere because my friends who also got dresses there had bad experiences with alterations.

Re: Davids Bridal
Multiple horrible experiences with david's bridal. FM me for details.
ETA: David's Bridal is the Friendly's of the bridal shops. No one has really ever had a great experience there, yet we all keep winding up there.

Re: Davids Bridal
I think it depends on 2 things:
1. Location 2. Lotsa luck
My MOH got her gown there a few years back at the Long Island City location & had a wonderful experience & absolutely no problems. Had I found 'the 1' I would've ordered at that location. But read many horror stories on all wedding boards.

I used them too - the other girls are right - they may not answer the phone right away etc, but the $price was right for me. I am angry though, because my dress was in for final alterations and was supposed to be ready for 9/12. They called me and said it will be ready for Tues 9/16!! HELLO it better be - my wedding is 11 days after that!!
Edited to say: I used the store in Long Island City. They are very friendly and helpful when you go there.
Nora: I take offense to that!! The Friendly's of bridal stores? So basically my dress is a fast food dress or something? LOL!

Jen, I personally can't wait to see your wedding pics! I am sure that you will be gorgeous in your gown. There is nothing wrong with David's Bridal, trunk shows, sample sales or any other way to get a wedding gown!

Re: Davids Bridal
not everyone can afford Macy's or want to. I found my dress in a mag and it happend to be David's Bridal. No they are not the most professional, but they did get the job done correctly!

Re: Davids Bridal
Please don't take this wrong...I could have purchased a dress anywhere (maybe not Vera Wang) but I found 'the' dress at Davids.
