Davids Bridal Alterations

Has anyone gotten alterations at David's? I surprisingly bought a very beautiful inexpensive (not cheap looking like some styles) from there but I've been warned about alterations. I don;t need too much done but I don't know where else to go! Please help

I also got a beautiful dress from Davids Bridal. I was afraid to get my alterations done there because I've heard people complain about them so I am getting them done at the shop my girls got their BM dresses.

I got my dress from Davids and had it altered there..everything was fine. I had a Black Hatian Lady names Francis...ask for her, she can sometimes come off with an attiude only because she has 300 dress to do in 2 days and everyone has the same problem. My dress was too big and she had to alter it down 2 sizes, she did a wonderful job, and the alteration price was great i think it came to about $250. i went somewhere else and they wanted $510 to do my dress.

After all the stories and having spoken to a seamstress at Davids there is no way in hell I'll trust them with my dress. Karin gets good reviews on this site, you can search for her to see older messages.

I also bought my dress at Davids Bridals and have heard nightmares about the alterations done there. There are just a few ladies and hundreds of dresses to alter. I am getting the dress altered at Pachogue Bridal, same place I am getting the BM dresses, I have used them a numerous amount of times and trust them.

i have also heard horror stories - so i broght my dress somewhere else and they were horrible. sometimes you just can't win!

My BM dresses are coming from there we r going to take them elsewhere for alterations, trying to find a seamstress know. I might have one, I will forum e mail u when I get it.

I ordered my BM dresses from Davids also. They came in on time without any problem but when I asked about alteration they told me one month. The girls took the dresses elsewhere to get the alterations done and everything looked great.

She didn't alter things for me yet, but based on the picture of the dress and alterations needed, I think she is less than David's price wise or similar but more than dry cleaners guys (Does that make sense?). I have ordered a tonn and I mean a tonn of alterations (Hem, detaching the train and making it detachable, tons of aplique work) and the estimate I got was $300. If I were to have the bustle, it would be less.

I think you can bring a picture and explain what you want and she'll give you an estimate, if you're really worried... I got my dress cheap, so I wanted to make sure that alterations were proper.
