David's Bridal Colors...

David's Bridal Colors...

Would anyone happen to know if the colors that are offered at David's Bridal are offered anywhere else?

I have my 1 MOH and 4 bridesmaids... I told them that they can choose whatever dress they want in the color I want. My MOH is wearing the color Capri and has picked out her dress and will be ordering it this week. The BM's are wearing Cornflower. One BM ordered her dress a few days ago, one will be looking in the next few weeks, and the other two BM's are my FSIL's. I had gone with them about 2-3 months ago to try on dresses and they both found one that they each loved. The woman that night told us that the latest we should order them is the end of July so there's time for it to come in and more time for alterations if they need them. I talked to both of them this weekend and one said she was gonna order it this week, and the other told me that she wants to look elsewhere for a dress and doesn't plan on ordering it until October because she's really into the gym now and has lost 15lbs and plans on losing much more before October.

I told her that if she can find the same exact color elsewhere, then its fine that she gets it somewhere else. As for the whole ordering in October thing, I am extremely uncomfortable with her waiting that long and I tried explaining that to her. The wedding is January 16th. I feel that October is cutting it WAY too close and I would really prefer her to get it from DB because that's where we're doing everyone else's dress, but I don't wanna cause problems with her, especially because FMIL would probably get involved and it just wouldn't be good. I have always gotten along with FSIL great but I am so unhappy about her wanting to wait until October.

I have seen colors similar to those available at DB, it's just that the names are different. I've seen Cornflower for other designers but I'm sorry I can't remember which one.

I believe the Alfred Angelo collection has a large selection of colors

i think all places have different colors even if they are named the same. even if you order from the same place, same color, if you order at different times, they could be in different dye lots an the color could differ slightly.

for the october thing, i think DB could probably get it in time but with another designer, probably not. can she order what she wants now in the size she thinks she will be plus a little bit bigger so they can alter it to fit her correctly?

That's the thing- she doesn't want to get it at DB anymore. I don't even know why because when she tried on dresses there a few months ago, she found one that she loved. She then changed her mind and wants to get the dress elsewhere. Everyone else is ordering their dresses within the next few weeks, and she just wants to wait. And I have no idea what size she'll be in October and neither does she, but she keeps saying she'll weigh a lot less. It's just frustrating because I wish she would just order it from DB with the rest of the girls.

is your relationship with fmil good? if you spoke to her to speak to fsil, do you think that would help?

Yes, it's good but she's the type that sticks by her kids 100% and in this situation, I know she would tell me to let FSIL do her own thing, even if it isn't what I want. FH sides with me on this argument so if I can't get through to FSIL, he's gonna have to talk to her I guess.

Ugh, Ugh, and Ugh...sorry you're going through this. I would try to let FH deliver your message for you.

Thanks. I appreciate everyone's responses. I don't know what I'm gonna do yet but I think I'm gonna have to tell FH to say something..
