So I went to DB yesterday in Westbury to check out the Vera Wang dresses. What a DISASTER. The employees there are so RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. Nasty, nasty girls working there. I honestly think I would rather not buy a dress then purchase anything from there.
I should have known better. I see what my friend is going through for her wedding. They have done nothing but stress her out and make her cry. They also do nothing but lie. They told her she needed to order the BM dresses asap bc they are discontinuing them. Meanwhile 1.5 years later there is no discontinuation. I've had the dress taking up space in my closet for over a year since they came in like a week after I ordered. They lied to her about the alterations, made her order a dress way too small, and are flat out rude everytime she talks to them.
As for the Vera Wang dresses, they are certainly lovely!! Very different, beautifully made, and what a steal. They are comming out with BM dresses as well. It's unfortunate that DB has to be carrying this line

Sorry you had a bad experience there. I went to the David's Bridal in Lake Grove and although I did not end up getting my dress there they were a pleasure to deal with!

I'm so sorry to hear about this. Try the one in Massapequa. I haven't been in there by my friends brother's fiance bought her dress there and she had a great experience.

I totally know what you mean. I went to David's Bridal in the city last week to see the Vera Wang line. I fell in love with one of the Vera dresses and I'm going back this week to order the dress... i already see they are really crappy to deal with. I don't think the people that work there get that this is supposed to be a special experience. I felt very rushed through my whole appointment. I kept asking the salesgirl working with me if I could wait a little while to order the dress and she just kept saying that the dresses are going very quickly and that girls are buying the samples.... I spent the whole weekend on the phone with them trying to get a straight answer as to when i had to order my dress before its unavailable. If i didn't love the dress as much as i do i wouldn't bother but its just too perfect to pass up. I'm ordering my dress and then taking it to an outside tailor so i never have to deal with them after the dress arrives.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience! if you like the vera dresses maybe try going to a different davids bridal.. I heard some are better than others.

My friend is dealing with her own personal headaches at the Massapequa one. I was with her when she had a breakdown because the lady who was helping her kept shutting down every single thing she was saying. It was to the point where literally you can hear the yelling from the other side of the store. If you ask me it was disgusting how the employees were treating her. It's terrible that they told her to order such a small dreass, whoever measured her must have been high. The lady who was doing the alterations couldn't believe it either. Then they want to charge her tons of money to alter a dress that was their mistake.
The Vera Wangs are only in Westbury location on Long Island. None of the other stores here carry the line.
Good idea with getting the alterations done elsewhere, that's what I am doing with the BM dress.
They kept rushing me out as well telling me the dresses are flying off the rack and that they don't have time for me to try on more then three dresses. I was like thats funny I don't see a line at the door. It was the worst experience of my life.

They are SO NASTY in Westbury in particular. I'll never go back there. There have been many a discussion on these boards about them. Sorry it wasn't a great experience

honestly I had a great experience there for both myself as a bride and as a bridesmaid for my friend;s wedding. i think the trick is to go when it's not packed or a madhouse, so the girls aren't stressed/tired

I personally didn't have a good experience at DB, but I know a lot of girls have gotten their dresses from there and many have had good experiences. You just have to know what you're walking into. They have a wide range of dresses and price ranges so you're not going to get the best bridal service ever.

sorry to hear about our experience. That is horrible the way they are treating ppl. My cousin has had a pleasant experience but she is dealing with the one in the city.

I have had a bad experience 3 times now as a BM in weddings with David's Bridal. However, my friend was just in a wedding and her friend used David's and they had no problem. I guess its hit or miss. Due to my problems I have had with them, I won't be using them though
