My BMs had their appt to get measured for their dresses on Saturday.....I have to just mention that I had to call three times to get this appt in the book because they never bothered to write it in the book!
My friend had to change her appt and go early so when she went they never wrote down the style number....I had to go on the computer and find it for them from home....so I was already a little unnhappy with the service at DB.
When they called to confirm appts on Friday, I asked them two questions......was the dress on sale in the store as well as online or just online and would my girls still get the $20 off discount. I was told yes and yes, so I called the girls and let them know that the dress was going to be even cheaper than I had anticipated. Everyone was happy when we went in.
Then the girl who was helping us asked everyone to say their pants sizes outloud (two of my girls just had babies)...HOW RUDE to ask them to say that in front of other people.
When the girls went up to pay, they were told that they couldn't get the $20 discount because the dress was on sale....I explained that I had spoken to someone yesterday and they said that wouldn't be a problem and the girls get the discount no matter what. The woman wouldn't budge so I asked to speak to the manager....manager was a beast...she heard te story, turned and looked at me, ****** her teeth and said 'NO!' with a really nasty tone and then went on to tell me that I need to read the coupons because they state that it can't be combined with any other offer. I told her that she should tell her empoyees to read them as well because I was wrongly informed by them and any reputable business owns up to their mistakes.
She rolled her eyes and said that there was nothing they could do and that I should make sure I read the fine print.....I was livid. I have worked in retail sales and never in my life have I been treated with such utter disrespect. They are going to lose a lot of business from me if the district manager is unable to do anything for me....I am passing this along to all of you so that you don't have to go through what I did. No person should! STAY AWAY FROM DAVID'S BRIDAL of WESTBURY!

Re: David's Bridal Westbury Rant
I am sorry to hear you had such a terrible time. I have just recently purchased my mother's dress and my MOH dress from them and I had no problems. I am sorry you had such a bad experience.
Can you try another store? Or are you going to stick with them?

Oh sorry so long, but I needed to vent. Also, for me it isn't the money so much as the principle of the situation.....they were just so rude.
The girl that was helping everyone get measured was talking to someone at te counter. The person at the counter was telling her to help my girls pay and she was like, they aren't my customers....well, actually they are but they are jus comebacks....she said that right in front of my friend....how do people think this is ok?

Re: David's Bridal Westbury Rant
I am calling customer service today and I will see what they can do. I love the dresses and don't want to ask my BMs to get measured again, so I don't know what I am going to do. I am just so mad at t hem right now. I have gotten BMs dresses from there in the past when it was on Glen Cove Road and never had a problem, but this time as a bride dealing with it, I had a huge problem
People had told me not to go there because they had bad experiences, but I didn't listen.

My friends also asked for the customer service number....they had issues of their own with them that day.
Hopefully the next interaction will be better!

Re: David's Bridal Westbury Rant
I had a horrible experience there as well. I went with my mom and sister last November on a Tuesday about 2:30 in the afternoon. We didn't have an appointment but we were just beginning to look for BM and MOB dresses. There was only 1 other person in the store ( who was finalizing here purchase when we got there) and when we walked in the woman at the door started asking us what our names were and what time our appointment was for. We said we were just looking and got a huge attitude from her. She said 'well if you want to try anything on you need to make an appointment' Hello there were 5 employees standing around talking b/c there were no customers. We looked around for about 20 minutes with 1 of the salespeople repeated bothering us to try and make an appointment for my sis and mom to try on the dresses.
They annoyed us so much we finally left without making an appointment and did not order the dresses there and have never been back. I could understand the appointment thing it was a weekend or busy but why couldn't we try things on when they had no customers? Why did we have to make an appointment to come back?
I do not recommend them based on my experience. I know some people have had good service but I didn't.

Re: David's Bridal Westbury Rant
I went to the Westbury store to look for a gown for me and dress for my MOH, and the experience wasn't negative, but it wasn't entirely positive.
We went on the Friday after Thanksgiving, at around 4 or 4:30pm, and although they closed after 6pm on that day, 2 sales ladies were talking very loudly about how they couldn't wait to go home. Meanwhile I'm standing right there...made me feel like I was disturbing them! Other things happened after that, but in general the ladies in that store really need to get their act together!

Re: David's Bridal Westbury Rant
I had the SAME rudness at David's Bridal in North Canton, Ohio. My rudness was due to the fact I did not get my dress there just BM as soon as they knew that they treated us like crap!!! I called the 800 number on the site and complained to like 5 different people but got $25 off per order for all future orders for my wedding this included Mens Warehouse Tux which we used for the tuxes. Of course when we went to order dresses (did everything separatly so everyone received the discount the manager tried to tell us we couldn't combine... i pulled out my cell and dialed the 800 number and that was more then she could stand... we got it.

Aww this makes me sad... when I went everyone there was nothing but nice and helpful!
Of course it probably helped that I went on a Tuesday morning and I was one of only like three people there.

Re: David's Bridal Westbury Rant
I, too, had a horrible experience there. I was planning on calling someone to complain as well. Supposedly I was supposed to make appointments for dress alterations when the dress was ordered in March for June. I went 3 different times with 4 different girls and no one was told this. I was fough with by one of the girls as well as the MANAGER as they defended the girl who 'helped' me (no one ever helps anyone there). So I had to literally beg and plead for an appt. PS. My girls dresses will just be done this Wednesday.... 2 weeks before the wedding. So if anything is wrong... I'm screwed!

When I went to get my gown there, they weren't rude or anything....I wouldn't say that they were all exceptional in their service but nothing like this. I can't wait to get on the phone and ream them out. Unfortunately, I am at work and the conference room has been booked all day....I don't want everyone else to have to deal with my loud mouth if I need to bring that out!

Re: David's Bridal Westbury Rant
David's Bridal near Willowbrook Mall in NJ isn't all that great in service either. They have ONE person at the register on this particular Saturday that I went to pick up my dress. They have like 3 people greeting you as you enter, which is such a waste since the line at the register was so long.
When it was my turn, I told the woman I was there for a pick-up. She said ok and then proceeded to pick up the phone and make a 5 minute phone call to another customer. Then finally another employee came to the register and asked if I was being helped and I said 'no.' Then the lady on the phone hangs up and says 'yes, you ARE being helped.' I was like ***? No I'm not, if I were being helped you'd be getting my freakin' dress for me!
The customer service is lacking. Very lacking.

Re: David's Bridal Westbury Rant
I am sad that so many people had such negative experiences. I guess it is true what they say about the chains....they don't care about you. You are insignificant to them since they have places all over the place.
Either way, I don't think collectively we are insignificant and it would help to let customer service know how much we hate their service.
I personally have a large family and am the second of my friends to marry, so there are a lot of people that I can deter from there.....and I will if they don't start acting right!

I also had really horrible service at David's Bridal in Westbury....when we had our appointment, the sales rep treated us as as if she was doing a favor by helping us out. I couldn't wait to run out of there, it was a horrible experience!

Re: David's Bridal Westbury Rant
I got my dress there a few months ago and had no problems. I went in to show it to my MOH and browse the BM dresses and they were SOOOO super rude. I was shocked.
If its any consolation went with friend to Yonkers DB for her to look at gowns and they were awesome. Unbelievably accomdating staff, totally sweet, place is so much tidier too!!
