Davids Bridal...customer service not so good

I've heard alot of bad reviews about the customer service in Davids Bridal but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Boy was I wrong. We went to the one in Westbury because it was closer to all the vendors we were seeing that day. First of all they have bad communication skills. When I got there I was told I can look through the bridesmaids dresses while we waited for the consultant to help us. Then when I started I was told to stay by the front desk and wait for the consultant instead. The girls working there were so young 16-18 and frankly I dont like being told what to do by someone younger than me. They were so ghetto and rude it was unbelievable. We were basically on our own. All they did was give us our dresses and we had to try it on by ourselves. They were too busy walking around talking to each other than helping us.

After we chose the bridesmaids dresses, we figured I should try on dresses. We started looking through the bridal dresses and after about half an hour of doing that, the two little teenage workers come up to us and scold us. They told us we we'rent allowed to look or touch the dresses without a consultant and if wanted to stay in the store to wait for one to be ready for us. Ewwww. They told it to us like they were talking to 5 yr olds. So we stood aside and waited. After two minutes this older woman that was standing nearby comes to us and is like 'Are you ready Ive been waiting for you'. Um thanks for letting us know beforehand when we were just told to wait. She took ages to get my dress and didnt even help me get them on. My MOH did all the work she should have been doing. After trying on 2 dresses then she decides to bring me a slip and bra. She pretty much ignored us the rest of the time we were there.

If I hadnt fallen in love with all those dresses and for a great price, I would have left. We decided that when we order the dresses we're going to the one in Jersey because its closer to me and hopefully have better service.

I hate that place. I will never go there again. I went there with my aunt to look for her dress. They did the same thing to us. The women left my aunt in the dressing room and went and help someone else.

My cousin had major issues with them as well. She special ordered her dress about 1 year before her wedding (they didn't have the dress in stock). Then 4 months before the wedding she started calling to find out the status. Over the course of the next 2 weeks, she was told lie after lie, story after story about the whereabouts of her dress. The stories ranged from 'the designer died and the dress can't be made' to ' your dress came in 2 months ago and someone accidentaly sold it'. Seriously!!! It was absoloutely insane. So, Davids Bridal told my cousin that our dresses (the bridemaids dresses) were in and we should pick them up and they were sorry for the problem with her dress and they would give her a discount on another gown. My cousin said 'no way, I want refunds to all of my girls, there is no way I'm buying a dress from here'. They were pretty understanding and all of the BM's were given full refunds. So now 4 months before the wedding my cousin had to find a new dress for her and the BM's!!! It worked out for the best tho, because her new dress was 10X more beautiful and ours were awesome, too.

I just went to the David's Bridal in Westbury last week and was also told i couldnt look at the dresses by myself. I really wanted to browse so i waited for a consultant. She was actually very nice and helpful, but since i couldnt browse the dresses, i couldnt try on the ones i wanted to. i had to 'describe' the dress i wanted and she picked some out for me to try on. it was extremelty unpractical but i guess its their policy. another time i went there, on a saturday night, it was so crowded that all the consultants were busy and i was able to look through the dresses by myself. i guess i'll try that again.

I don't expect people to always go above and beyond for me. I know it's not easy working with the public. But I do expect to be treated with respect. Especially if someone was making commision. With that said I would have gone to the manager. At the very least I wouldn't want the consultant to get a commision on my sale when she did nothing but be rude.

Yea I dont expect that either but they were ridiculous. They seemed just not to care. And what makes it worse, the bridal consultant kept saying over and over again how tired she was. That made me feel uncomfortable when I asked to look at another dress.

i agree! Davids bridal has a large selection but the girls are SOOOO rude! I wanted to slap the girl in the Lake Grove store. She works the front table and you think she would be nice and give off a positive feeling when you first walk in! NO! She had the worst look on her face from the time I walked in the door!

I went there with my bm for me to try on dresses for her wedding being that I am one of her bm's. Holy s**t was this girl crazy rude. I almost went kung-Fu on her! I DO NOT RECCOMEND DAVIDS BRIDAL. For all of you girls who had a nice time at Davids...I am verry happy it worked out because they hire some crazy people. Thanks Bye
