Oh, Kiefer Sutherland would have been great too!!!

mmmmmmmmmm i didnt even think of that. He can play Any role, and i'll droooool

Yeah, I was watching 'The Lost Boys' and I thought of how great he has become as an actor. He would have made the perfect Langdon. Not such a huge star (well, like Hanks, but still a name) and he embodies all of Langdon's qualities.

I actually think Tom Hanks will be excellent in the role. He is a great actor and has played so many different characters very successfully. I can totally picture him as Langdon.

I was thinking of someone more like Sam Shepard. I think he might be a little long in the tooth, but he would have been wonderful.

He would have been perfect.

I imagine Jean Reno is playing the police officer/detective?

Is it a law that any movie filmed in France MUST have Jean Reno in it? He's a fantastic actor - but he's in seemingly every french film!

I must be missing something.

I don't remember Langdon's character as being SEXY. I just finished the book last week, so it's fresh in my head.

Did I miss something?

Same here - I don't picture him being sexy necessarily.

Paul Bettany as Silas seems odd to me...

I didn't see him as being sexy at all - I saw him as kind of blending in, nothing special. I think Hanks will do a fine job!

Looks-wise, I can totally see Bettany playins Silas...as for acting the part, I only really recognize him from 'A Beautiful Mind' - so I can't really comment.

I hope the movie is more exciting than the book...the writing was so 'blah'...imo.

Re: DaVinci Code thread

You know I am having flashbacks to a conversation I had with some friends when we found out that Interview with a Vampire was being cast. I kind of retract what I said earlier, in that respect, and think maybe an unknown should play the title role.
When I hears Tom Cruise was being cast as Lestat I was not thrilled, but figured he's a decent actor..it'll be OK. I thought he was awful, and I thought it really took away from the character. But in Queen of the Damned, I thought that Stuart Townsend was actually quite good

I guess it is so incredibly hard to please everyone who already has a vision in their own mind of what a character should look like.

'Angels and Demons' is the first of the Langdon books. If you have read 'Davinci Code' then you have pretty much read 'Angels and Demons'.
