def. not doing this...I don't see why you would need it. I know Kittythestray had them done becuase she was unhappy with her pics and her photographer...

We are having a photographer, photojournalist, camera's on the tables and guests with cameras...if I don't have enough pics I'm happy with...there is something wrong with me...

yeah u get all dressed up again but u dont have to actually take it the day after u can take it up to a year later...and u take them where ever u want

We're not doing an 'official' day after shoot. But a lovely friend of mine who is good with a camera said she'd love to take photos of Will and I at a location I love but can't get to the day of the wedding.
I'm not sure if we'll get all dressed up again or not..

the concept of the day after shoot kind of confuses me...
I mean, other people will think they are your wedding pictures...but you'll know they're not....so what's the point?

Even if you hate your wedding photos... getting them redone... I mean, I can sort of understand, but at the same time, it's not the same...so why spend the money?

you put your gown on again, and your DH puts on a tux or a suit and you can either take the pictures at the same place or at another location.
You don't usually do them the literal day after... you can do them whenever you want. Some people wait up to a year or longer...

People have done this because it has rained or they didn't like how their pics came out. Yes, you get all dressed up again and can do it wherever. Our photographer told us that he was shooting at Oheka and it started to rain and the bride was getting very upset and he told her they could come back again and redo it.

But then you have to do your hair and makeup as well? Are they just incase it rains on ur wedding day? But they wont be pics on your wedd day

One reason we wanna do it is because our RH is on the water. We really wanted to take pics in nyc, but our hall is too far from the city. This way we get to have pics of us in both places.

Also, it's supposed to look more relaxed. When you're more relaxed, your pics will totally reflect that. On the actual wedding day you might be more stiff and might not wanna do some racy () pictures in front of your fam and bridal party! hee hee!

I also want pics of FH in his tux with his tie undone, and me with a more relaxed look (hair/makeup wise), etc.

Its just another excuse to get dressed up again. Some people have their makeup/hair done again, some don't. Depends on the look you're going for.

A friend of mine did it before the wedding, which I thought was odd. Actually she had gotten married by a Justice of the Peace earlier in the year and got married with a religious ceremony later, but in the earlier one she had worn a different dress (it was more informal with immediate family only). I thought it was weird that she didn't mind him seeing the newer more formal dress early and they got married at Villa Lombardi, which is gorgeous to begin with, but they wanted pictures at a mansion somewhere, so that's why they did it. They really did end up having gorgeous pictures and if you think about it, for the money you pay for the wedding dress, I guess she got extra use out of it...to each his own I guess, that's what they wanted.

i am doing them ... mainly because the photgrapher i wanted wasnt avalible for my day and because the place i really wanted to take pic at i wont be able to do the day of .... also i love the fact that i get to wear my dress again!!!

But we missed the boat for e-pics, and it was either one or the other. So we opted for day-after pics.

But because of all of those boudoir pics, I'm thinking about maybe doing those instead of day-after pics.....

ETA: then again, the thought of sticking my fat azz in lingerie makes me wanna vom on myself.

i love photography and i am a really big picture person so even though i find day after pictures very weird they are also very appealing to me.....

you have tons of time with a photographer - you arent rushing b/c its the day of your wedding - so you can take time to get some really incredible shots

you can go to almost any location you want - this is something not everyone can do on their wedding day

you can lay on the beach, in the grass, in a tree, on the sidewalk, wherever b/c you dont need your dress again! you can get great pictures without worrying if your dress is getting dirty

and like i said, if you are really into photography and pictures like FH and I are you can have these amazing pictures together dressed as the bride and groom - to me the pictures are art and its not so much about whether or not its the 'real' wedding....

im not doing day after pictures BUT if we have extra $$ after the wedding its something we might consider......i just think its something fun to do with your husband - id love to have pictures on the beach or in NYC where FH and I look like models
